Publisher's summary

Secondhand store owner Sarah Grayson and her inquisitive rescue cat, Elvis, will need to close the book on a killer in the newest installment of this charming New York Times best-selling series.

Although Sarah Grayson is often tending to the contained chaos of her delightful secondhand store in North Harbor, Maine, plus dealing with the quirky personality of her rescue cat, Elvis, she still takes an occasional night off. But her evening out comes to an abrupt end when Sarah discovers Stella Hall, a member of the library board, standing over a body in the street.

Although Stella admits that she and the victim had fought about several things including library funding, she is adamant that she is innocent and the real killer is on the loose. Sarah is eager to help, but even with the assistance of Charlotte's Angels, the senior citizen detectives who rent out part of her shop, there is still a vast amount of circumstantial evidence linking Stella to the crime. The odds may be stacked against them, but Sarah and Elvis, along with the Angels, will work hard to check out the suspects and catch a killer.

Pawstruck

I love this series and was super excited when this one came out. Once again Sophie Ryan did an amazing job at entertaining me. The only flaw was the narrator. It was not her fault but all the other stories were done by someone else and Rachel Jacobs has a sweet younger voice and hasn’t honed enough variation of characters to determine who they are. Please get the original narrator back for any upcoming books in this series.

Narrator not the same

Was really challenging getting past the change in narrators. I had to increase the speed, which helped. The voices weren’t as easy to discern who was speaking - some characters sounded like others so you really had to pay attention to the ‘who’ that was supposedly speaking. Most of the time it was delivered rather choppy - had to reduce the speed which only helped some.
The narrator wasn’t horrible, just didn’t do this book of characters as well.

Story was another Sophie Ryan great.

Spectacular ending!! I couldn't believe it

I didn't think those two characters were going to end up together. Great storyline!!

Always fun!

I really enjoy this series. I love the characters, etc. i could see people weren’t happy about the switch in narrators and could see why. I though thought she did a good job (and in some ways a better job than the previous narrator). The only problem I had was with how she voiced Liz. Liz just sounded really wrong to me. It’s a wrinkle but not one that will stop me from continuing this series.

The story was great but what was with they typos/misspeaking

The story was a great continuation of the characters I have grown to love! I just wish this reader knew that it’s Mr. P and not Mrs.P, finger prints over finger tips. Idk if it was a typo in her source material or a misspeak but it jarred me a bit. I don’t usually have those kinds of issues… I consume a lot of audio books.

I highly recommend this story and even this reader. I would like to see the mistakes updated, though.

The cats antics.

The whole story is just so good. The story kept going on and kept my interest.

Love the series, however...

A very unfortunate change of narrator, the character voices are all wrong. You'd think a new narrator would try to keep the established voices as close as possible to the original narrstor.

Another great addition

Sofie Ryan, as always, has crafted another great storyline. The characters are still very believable and seem more as friends rather than mere characters in a book you’re reading about. Rachel L. Jacobs breathed life into the story and gave each character a distinct voice. I highly recommend this book/audiobook to cozy mystery fans.

why did you change the narrator? This one was boring, I did not like her.

Great book - no so great narration

Sorry but this narrator cannot pull off the correct voices, for this book. I know you can’t always keep the same narrator but you need someone with st least the same voice types. Liz sounds like a bimbo vs a strong empowered woman. It takes from the story bringing it down a notch by association
