After one too many reckless fights, his team captain suggests he rebuild his image. The solution? Coach a kids' hockey team. He never expects Nora, the one-night stand who rocked his world, to show up with a kid of her own.

Struggling single mom Nora Thoma is finally putting the pieces of her life back together after ditching her ex. One scorching night of passion with a pro athlete was supposed to be a risky escape, right? Wrong. Because now the man who gave her a toe-curling taste of paradise is volunteering as an assistant coach for her son's hockey team.

Wyatt's fighting to keep his hockey career, and Nora's fighting to give her son the life he deserves. But behind closed doors, their red-hot chemistry is out of control. When a photo leaks and secrets come tumbling out, Nora's left with two choices: run from her past... or trust Wyatt to fight for the family he never knew he needed. Like most romance novels it's predicable. I didn't feel there was much character development like in others I've read amd wosh there was more for after the confict. How did they get overcome thier past? Does Nora see a therapist and overcome her thrama of her abusive ex?
I didn't feel like the book really came to an end but rather a rushed ending.

The narrators were great! I’m usually one to totally DNF if I don’t like the reading and this one was a good one!

The story I feel like was a bit short, some parts could have played out longer or in more detail, but overall was a great story.

I wish Nora had talked to Wyatt more about her baggage and vice versa, especially before the drama of Michael coming through and being a menace. I loved the spice! Those scenes were hot! Pretty few though, I’d give it a 2 by my rating scale (which is a handful of open door scenes). I just wanted more of the relationship development in between the drama and angst, instead of emotional snippet realizations.

The characters were full bodied believable. Seamless storyline. The happy ending was family oriented tone - love loyalty and friendships were strong among all the characters.

Trusting again

The narrators on this one were perfect for the story! Wyatt and Nora had instant chemistry, though it took them a while to admit the extent of it. The lack of communication between them was frustrating, though it allowed the big drama in the third act.

It wasn’t bad but it definitely wasn’t good. To me it felt like there were lots of missing parts of the story. Some parts of the book felt unnecessary to include and waisted time on useless information that didn’t add to the story at all. I would have liked for this book to go into more detail on the MMC and the MFCs son connecting because there was very little dialogue between the two and then somehow they are magically connecting? It just confused me. Then there was just so much that the main characters never talked about with each other that drove me crazy! I’m never a fan of the miscommunication trope but this was on a different level because they didn’t even talk about anything important to begin with! It was odd. The ideas were good, I just thought it was poorly executed in my opinion.

I tried really hard to like this

I’m usually not overly sensitive but this book needs a trigger warning list. Straight up, full on, hilt deep a**l s*x on their first “date”… within months of escaping an abusive marriage. Not believable. Not for me. That’s the purpose of trigger warnings!! You gotta give us a heads up of what’s gonna happen. Returned!!
