About this listen

Barbara A. Res worked directly with Donald Trump for 18 years on some of his biggest projects and had nearly unlimited access to him. Trump selected Res to be in charge of construction of Trump Tower, his greatest success as a developer. In this insider’s look at how the ambitious real estate developer became the most divisive president in recent US history, Res takes us into closed-door meetings, boardrooms, limo rides, and helicopter flights to really understand what makes him tick and show us why his claim to be a great dealmaker and savvy businessman is just a mirage.

No one with this kind of access to Trump during his formative years as a developer has ever written so completely about who he is away from the cameras. It’s no wonder that when the media are looking for someone who really understands Trump, they turn to Res. Candid, personal, and deeply perceptive, Res shines new light on the man whose depravity has put us all - and democracy itself - in danger.

When I want to learn about something or someone, I look for people who actually know about the subject. Barbara Res joins the list of people I've turned to in that effort. She has seen all the good and bad of Donald Trump, and I thank her for her honest insight. I wish more people had listened to or read this book before November 5th.

From someone who actually knew him.

First about the author: Barbara Res - quite a woman and she has an excellent memory for details. Her explanation is utterly remarkable. I hung on her every word. She is fantastic!

Narrated by Erin Bennett - 10 stars! I couldn't put this book down and listened all the way through.

I would give 10 stars if I could; super excellent

The quality of the reader's voice was great. I'm very surprised with how I view that man and how similar to this book it is. Definitely a must.

Superb!

Barbara Res worked close to Donald Trump for 18 years and knows the man: the good, the bad and the ugly.
I plan to listen to it a 2nd time since there is so much here. It’s like a puzzle of the man; she gives you the pieces that you fit together into a picture of Trump and thus our last 5 years as a country! Now I get it!
Read and believe, America!

The Real Donald Trump

My only visit to Trump Tower in 1985, the entire downstairs smelled like mildew. My friends didn’t smell it but I recognized the smell, subtle but the smell of a fountain in the house of a family friend. She called the plumber and changed something and it cleared pretty fast. Not at Donald’s pal I’ve. You have a an excellent voice (I’m not talking about the narrator I mean the voice in your writing. The narrator was also excellent. Can’t recommend this enough.

Chilling

I became a barbara fan after watching her interviews in the Netflix doc series on trump. She is a no nonsense woman and as a woman, I admire that. Especially considering her line of work back in the 70s and 80s, she herself is fascinating. She has good insight into trump and what he's like, she's able to use current events to tie in what he has done or said in his past. I find trump (like many others) to be a fascinating figure to learn about, and you would compare it to a car wreck. You really don't want to care, but its just so damn intriguing! If you like hearing insights on trump and his bs, then please use your credit wisely and order this book!

Over the past four years I have watched, listened to and read a great deal of information about our 45th president. Much of it thoroughly researched and well written and some of it not so much.
However, if you truly want to know and understand Donald J. Trump you have only to read or listen to “Too Much and Never Enough by Mary L. Trump and "Tower of Lies” by Barbara A. Res. Two different authors, two very different perspectives, one congruent conclusion.

Fascinating, historical, credible
