About this listen

Stone Barrington takes on a scheming rebel in this latest action-packed thriller from number-one New York Times best-selling author Stuart Woods.

Upon returning to New York City after a whirlwind British excursion, Stone Barrington is notified of a delicate situation within the country's administration. A close friend requires his expertise and subtlety to eradicate a destructive presence in a classified agency - only it soon becomes clear that this renegade was sent by a rival Stone has encountered before.

From the City of Light to the rocky Maine coastline, Stone will need to summon all his wit and daring to halt the audacious plots threatening to reveal confidential intel, and catch the evasive traitor at last. This enemy may be equipped with unlimited resources and devious schemes, but if Stone remains vigilant, justice may finally prevail....

The story was fun and interesting stone Barrington, but then 15 minutes left, so wrap it up! Too convenient and anti-climactic an ending. Put a bummer on the whole story.

Good story, but too quickly wrapped up.

It's a Barrington novel, so sex , spies, and a glimpse into the life of the 1%

Stones story progresses and boy what a progressiin

The ending stinks. The story just stops abruptly. What was up with the part about the mother and daughter winking at each other. You didn’t develop that part either.

This one is the most disappointing. It’s short, trite, re-uses so many cliches from previous books (is literally everyone born in Delano?), and ultimately it breaks down as lazy and uncared for at 7:10 in chapter 54 when the text as read says “pumped a round into the magazine.” Ugh. One does NOT pump a round into a magazine. One pumps a round into the chamber. Obviously Stuart, if he wrote this, has become so sloppy and careless that it’s hardly worth listening anymore, or his editor, if this appears in the original manuscript, has zero knowledge of guns (get a new editor, there’s guns in Stuart’s books), or the producer doesn’t pay attention, or perhaps the narrator cannot read, or maybe it’s all of these. At any rate, someone should be retired from this series based on the severity of this gaffe. Good luck finding something redeeming in this audio book. At least it’s exceptionally short.

I’ve heard them all. Every single audio book by Woods.

One of his best. You need eleven more words? Lots of luck. You will never again get a review from me. Suad McCoy

Stuart is running out of ideas

Surprisingly quick and anti-climactic ending. Sort of felt like a waste of time. Stone needs to reign in his hormones, I can’t keep all his women straight! Superb reader!

That’s it???
