About this listen

Young beautiful women are disappearing. Different types, with different backgrounds, most with a lot of debt, few friends, and no close family to speak of. Gone.

Someone is collecting trophies. Only one person can see it. Special Agent Emma Kane.

Kane knows she'll need help on this ordeal. But the only man who can help her, famed profiler Jacob Thorne, is no longer speaking to her. The clock is ticking and Kane herself is now a target of whoever is doing this.

As Kane gets closer to unlocking true cruel purpose the abducted women serve, the real question is not only will she survive what she finds, but can she handle what she discovers about Thorne and about herself?

Emma Kane and Jacob Thorne are back in this thrilling sequel to Todd Travis' pulse-pounding debut novel Creatures of Appetite.

How to take justice into your own hands

I wished that the narrator was female since Thorne only appeared in the last few chapters. I did dislike however, the way the narrator would say certain words. This book was not about who did it but more about how to take justice into your own hands. A lot of people didn’t like the ending but the ending was my favorite part. Nothing else needed to be done and not all stories has to be righteous this is nonfiction. I liked this book way better than the first. What bothered me was the language and how the agents praised bad language and made one of the agents swear just because it was part of the job. He was started off pure but by the end he changed. I recommend this book to anyone whose not faint at heart, does not mind foul language, is open minded, and don’t mind gruesome scenes and details. Strong topics are discussed in this book so be very wary.

Much better than expected.

Didnt love the narration but it didn't hinder the story. i loved this story. just enough romance and twist and turns. The main characters didn't have blonde hair and blue eyes and everyone wasn't drop dead beautiful (to an extent). if you like a mystery and a good thriller, i believe you'll like this stroy.

So much potential, so little time...

Young, beautiful, single women in financial trouble are disappearing. The protagonists Emma Kane and Jacob Thorne are busy beating the pavement trying to find out what has happened to them and who is taking them. Who ever it is doesn't fit the standard profile that says when a man is obsessed with women he has a type that he sticks to. Other then the obvious good looks, the kidnapped women have nothing in common. Not race, hair color or occupation. Special Agent Emma Kane has a theory that that women are being collected like baseball cards but instead of for each player it's for each type and it's been going on for about 20 years. These women are trophies. There are so many twists and when the kidnapper decides to take Emma the suspense ratchets up a few notches.
I really like this story and think if it had not been so short it could have easily been a great book. The problem is there is so much packed into this it becomes very predictable. The characters are very superficial and a plot with so much potential is never fully developed.
Norman Gilligan does an excellent job narrating.
I recommend this book for a quick light read when you are looking for something in between books that are more involved.

Wow!!!

Final a surprise ending!!! Not many books really keep you guessing till the end, but this book delivered on that promise. Only negative that I can say is it had an annoying liberal verses conservative under tone. Is there nowhere we can escape from people airing their political grievances???

Bad!!

For some unknown reason I stuck it out through this book, badly written, horrible narration and sounds like something written for a 15 year old.
