About this listen

Love and hate are not opposites, but sometimes they’re born from the same fire....

Sean: Soldiers die, that’s just how it goes. It’s different when it’s one of your brothers. Team Maelstrom, my team, was broken when we lost one of our own. And now we have to sit around Stateside while the men in charge figure out what to do with us. When they find a replacement, I immediately know it’s not going to work. I can’t deal with this pain in the ass. I want him gone. It looks like I’m stuck with him, but I don’t have to make it easy....

Aidan: I didn’t ask for this. I don’t want this. I’ve been thrown into this dysfunctional team with a team leader who’s out to get me. The guy’s an ass, and he’s driving me crazy. I can hardly think straight when I’m dealing with him. Then everything changes when he pins me to a wall and kisses me....

Before Sean and Aidan can figure out what to do about that kiss, Team Maelstrom is thrown from the frying pan into the freezer. Fear and peril changes people, but will it change these two hot military men enough to keep the team alive? Can they work things out between them and get everyone back home in one piece? And what about the future?

Great story, great sex

Even though the story was short I really enjoyed it. I liked the characters and how they interacted. Honestly the only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is the narration. I know it’s not everyone’s preference but I felt a deeper voice was need for the narration. Again just my opinion, I would still recommend this book for anyone looking for a m/m romance.

A great enemies to lovers story

I love the series "Men of Fort Dale" and know now almost all the audio books, even if I have not listen to them in the right order. But that doesn't matter, because it works out quite well that way. This is partly due to Romeo Alexander's and John Harris‘ wonderful writing style and partly due to the storyline and characters.

Sean is the leader of Team Maelstorm, which has just lost a team member. No wonder the new guy on the team - Aiden - is having a really hard time. But Sean seems to hate Aiden and in order to test whether Aiden really fits into the team, he has to perform quite well. You can tell right away that the air is crackling when the two meet. Then it comes unexpectedly to a kiss, with which both have not expected. The two are really hot, but will they manage to settle their differences and keep the team together? During an exercise in the mountains, a fatal event occurs.

I absolutely loved this enemies to lovers story and was totally hooked from the start. I loved the chemistry between the two protagonists and their interaction.
The book has everything a good story needs: interesting protagonists, suspense, action, lots of emotions and hot sex. I listened to the audiobook in one day and I would have liked to listen to more.

The audiobook was narrated by Michael Ferraiuolo and it was - as always - an absolute pleasure to listen to him. I like the way he reads, he has a good rhythm and great intonation. He gives different voices to the characters and brings the book to life.

"So, you two are like, not a thing, but a thing?"

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

Story comment: good pace and likeable characters, the chemistry between Sean and Aidan is well written and they have an entertaining story with good banter. I liked that the guys are realistically portrayed as not being 100% OK with everything they have gone through.

Narrator comment: I enjoyed Michael Ferraiuolo's narration and think he's done a good job narrating Trust Me, I Hate You. I had no problem distinguishing characters and the rhythm, inflections and intonations all worked to bring the book to life.

Enemies to Lovers

This is the closest book to a true I hate you to I want you book I've read in a very long time. You actually have that "I really don't want you here I'm going to break you and make you leave" vibe for a lot of the first of the book. 10/10 will re-listen.

Good Story Great Narration

I enjoyed this story, it has a nice flow, interesting characters and just the right amount of angst. I liked Sean and Aidan, each with their own baggage causing genuine enemies to lovers situation and conflict. Narrator did an amazing job giving these guys voices and telling the story, his narration turned a good story into a perfect listening experience. I am going to listen to book one in the Men of Fort Dale series while waiting for the next book to be released.

Not the Story I'd Expected.

After reading the first book, I really thought that this book was going to be Troy and Oscar's story. Once I got over my initial confusion I was able to really get into it. Michael Ferraiuolo always has this way of drawing me in with his narration.

I love an enemies to lovers trope and this definitely fit the bill. Romeo Alexander did a great job of articulating the void a team can feel when someone is missing and what it is like to fill that person's shoes. I would very much recommend.

Loved it!

I enjoyed listening to this book. One of the tropes that I go for is enemies to lovers. The story is great, and I adore the characters.

I love listening to this narrator. He is one my favorites. He's awesome as always.

I definitely recommend this book, the authors, and the narrator. I look forward to the next book.

There really is a thin line between love and hate

Some men find it more than a little hard to show their emotions - that goes double for military men whose very lives depend on being cool and calm under the most dangerous of circumstances.
After Sean and his team suffer a devastating loss, they slowly begin to break apart under the strain and pressure. And before they can come to grips with what has happened, a new team member is thrust upon them - someone who is carrying his own baggage and has no idea how (or why) he's supposed to fit in. Aidan doesn't know if he wants to be part of Team Maelstrom any more than the team knows if they want him. Push leads to shove and shove leads to...you'll just have to find out for yourselves!
