About this listen

Jake thought he had life all figured out. He had the perfect girlfriend, a starting position on the Varsity baseball team, and a raging social life. He was living the dream. That is, until he discovers that he’s in danger of losing his scholarship. The ultimatum? Get a tutor or get out. Jake has no choice but to buckle down and put his head in his books. No sweat, right? The only problem is that the only person available to tutor him is a quiet nerd who would rather be alone than spend any time with a headstrong jock who isn’t used to applying himself to anything but sports.

For Kyle, college was only a formality. He didn’t need the degree, and he barely attended his classes and still passed with flying colors. Instead of sitting in class, he’d rather be chasing his true passion - designing and programming an original MMORPG game. Kyle doesn’t need a social life, and he definitely doesn’t need a boyfriend, especially because that would require stepping out of the closet, something he has no intention of doing any time soon. The only problem? He’s been assigned to tutor a handsome jock who would much rather be out on the field than stuck in a classroom.

When it comes to having life figured out, Jake and Kyle will have to realize that there’s more to life than good grades and games. Neither one of them is ready for what their newfound camaraderie will mean, but the bases are loaded, and it’s time to step up to the plate.

Trading Teams is a stand-alone college romance featuring a nerdy gamer and a jock with his head in the clouds. This steamy romance includes intimate scenes of graphic sex and is intended for mature listeners only. Batter up!

Great story!

College is a time for self-discovery and new relationships. When Jake learns that he needs to bring up his GPA he conveniently finds an attractive little nerd at the back of class to help him study. Kyle is still reeling from the effects of a past trauma and wasn't looking for a relationship. The matter can get even complicated if one isn't ready to come out of the closet. Can they make this work?

The story has a great pace, it keeps your interest without overwhelming you or skimping on details. The tension and angst of the characters can be felt throughout the whole story! I would have preferred a different narrator but even that didn't detract from this great romance. Pick it up, you'll be glad you did!

Good book!

We hear about the friendships born of tutoring and how those relationships can last forever, well, this is a spin on that and adds in the discovery of ones inner self. I love that they both seem drawn to each other despite their confusion. Well written and definitely worth a listen. I will admit that the narrator sounds quite young but I had to remind myself that the characters are in college so that's what they should sound. He does a great job bringing life to these characters!

A sweet opposites attract nerd-jock romance!

Jake has the perfect life. A gorgeous girlfriend and a starting position on the Varsity team no less.
But there is just one little hiccup. He is on danger of losing his scholarship and the only solution is getting a good tutor.

Kyle would rather be following his passion than being stuck in a class tutoring a jock who would rather be out on the field than couped up in a classroom.

But fate has other plans for them when their paths cross and they might just discover that they have a lot more in common than they originally thought.

This was a sweet opposites attract nerd /jock romance.
The characters were likeable, relatable and well fleshed out and the writing style was engaging .

The narration was decent.

The voices

The story is decent, typical nerd/jock trope. The reason this was so hard to listen to was the narrators voices. Like why did every other male character sound like yoda? Just read it in a normal voice if you can’t change your voice. That would have been a better decision.

Learning to let go

Loved this book. Jake and Kyle both worry about coming out. The athlete and the nerd. They make a cute couple.
I was given an ARC copy of this book with no requirement for me to write a review.

I voluntarily give this audio book an honest.

Thank you for the ARC book,I voluntarily give this audio book an honest review.
Jake was called to the dean's office to talk about his grades, Jake was going to loss his scholarship program if he didn't get his grades up.
Kyle was the smart guy, a little withdrawn from the world around, Shyness can do that to a person. When Jake's girlfriend breaks up with him, he turns to Kyle to focus more on his grades. Only Jake is getting flutters in his tummy ever time Kyle is around, can Kyle take a chance with Jake? Will Jake just break his heart in the end? Can Jake for that matter? After all is trading side of sexually worth the trouble? Can love really cure all? I loved this book, and the narrated by Kaeomakana was hilarious to listen too, he told the book so well.

Overall a good listen

The story is great and it's interesting. The relationship between the to characters gets build up nicely. The scene with them together are cute and really enjoy the more intense part. I would like a more after the climax a better exposition at the end, it felt rush, but it give a nice closing that's let's you feel happy with the story. The narration goes on a good pace and it's nice play out.
