Book of high quality. The interpretation of the caracters (gender and age) not good at all. The voice of Grietjie remained that of a small child and male rolls sounded forced. Should be a reading. Not a voice over.

Irma Joubert hou jou vasgenael tot die einde. Die leser het dit baie goed hanteer. Die laggies was soms bietjie irriterend, maar het bygedra tot Grietjie se karakter.

Dit is amazing hoe Irma iets uit die geskiedenis so oulike storie kan maak.

Waarvan ek ook gehou het is alhoewel die storie lank was, het ek nie eenmaal gevoel dat die storie op n einde moes kom lank voordie tyd nie, wat ek wel soms vind by ander lang stories nie.

The performance was subpar. Characters weren’t interpreted well and most of the male characters sounded impaired. The main character’s also didn’t mature with the character.

I loved the story but the narrator sounded like she was reading to toddlers.

She should consider that when an adult reads a book we don’t imagine childlike voices.

Ek moet ongelukkig saamstem met ‘n vorige luisteraar: “It’s supposed to be a reading not a terrible Radio theater production.

Fantasties geskryf en Anoecha wat die storie vertel het was amazing!! Ek kon nie ophou luister nie!!! Ongelooflik goed!!! Moet luister!!

Soos met “Ver wink die Suider kruis” het Irma Joubert het ‘n ongelooflike hoeveelheid kennis en navorsing in die skrywing van hierdie storie ingesit. Die storie van Grietjie en Jakob wat in die WW2 geskiedenis ingeweef is maak vir ‘n sterk kontras, maar ‘n pragtige storie. Ek wens dat ‘n meer ervare voorleser vir die boek gekies was, alhoewel ek het dit steeds baie geniet.

Dislike the way the person read the story . voice would fit better with nursery rymes. it is an audio book not a play that one persons tried to act all the characters. pronunciation of some words changed the meanings. very disappointed
