About this listen

Falling in love is easy. Staying in love is hard. In this heart-pounding follow-up to Tangled by New York Times best seller Emma Chase, Kate reveals that there is trouble in paradise, when unexpected circumstances force her and Drew to "renegotiate" their relationship.

There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself - and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice; the most important of my life. Drew already made his - in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville, Ohio, alone. Well, sort of alone...

What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard, and sometimes you have to go back to where you began before you can move ahead.

I didn't think it was possible to like this as much as the first one tangled but oh my gosh Emma Chase is just fantastic in her storytelling!

Totally awesome book

Who was your favorite character and why?

Drew...he's funny to listen to....make you wonder if most men really feel the way he does!

No, but really enjoyed her, and will listen to her again...but it is the male reader that I really love, he makes the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, but I laughed throughout the whole book

Spectacular Mess!

Excellent follow up to "Tangled". These two are powerfully spectacular. They are fun, exciting, loving, and caring. I love both of their penchants for humor, comedy, laughter, passion, and love.

Amazing

This book was devastatingly good. It so realistic to how miscommunication can happen and lead to unfortunate issues.

Fabulous Listen!

I laughed out loud, I cried a bit, I hurt inside for both Drew & Kate, & I reveled in their joy.

Charlotte Penfield delivered a masterful performance for all characters throughout, but it was delightful to have Sebastian York’s smooth, sexy AF voice wrap up the story. Be still, my heart.

Emma Chase’s writing is hilarious, & heartbreaking, but always spot on! This was the last of my books in the Drew & Kate saga (mainly because I was hesitant to listen to a singular female narrator- but Charlotte Penfield showed me the error of my ways with this listen) & I will truly miss them. I will be listening to this series over again; they’re full of everyday life’s problems, but overall are “feel good” books in the end.

And I absolutely love the piano & horn music at the beginning & end of this production- it takes me back to great memories in my favorite piano bars. Well done!

My Least Favorite Part of a Series

Any additional comments?

Why does every series have to have one of these stories? Yep, I understand that nobody really lives Happily Ever After but I don't understand why we have to go through this obligatory bump-in-the-road tale somewhere around every 2nd or 3rd volume in a series.

Like many others of this genre, Drew and Kate's problems stem from a silly misunderstanding. How the misunderstanding happened is pretty ridiculous, and then it lasts way too long. We go on and on while they say precisely the wrong thing and keep perpetuating the nonsense. Really?

I knew it would be like this coming into the story -- I read the reviews. I was hoping it wasn't as bad as the reviews made it out to be. It was. I really like Emma Chase's characters and didn't want to miss learning more about them. But honestly I think I could've happily missed this one.

Unnecessary and Diminishing

This portion of their story was unnecessary and served no purpose but to show immaturity and pain. Hard pill to swallow. I sped up the audio to listen in half the time.
