About this listen

Generations ago, a fateful decision was made that set events in motion that could destroy everything.

Now, the unsundered god Sartum is determined to undo that choice, and it's up to an unlikely group of heroes to stop him.

Layten, wracked with guilt over past decisions, Hopwell, facing the ultimate test of loyalty, Delerie, who only wants to return home, and Gilly, with a mysterious connection to magic, must fight, hide, and search across the Northern lands to put a stop to Sartum and his mortal followers.

But there's a twist that not even Sartum suspects, and a choice that was made long ago may be undone.

This was the fifth book in "The Ascendant Path" series, and the story was entertaining. Once I started this audiobook, I became so absorbed that I had to find out how the story would end. This book wrapped up the series in a satisfying way. I enjoyed the twists and turns. I was delighted by some surprising characters that made appearances in this tale. David Gurney's narration was great. His performance was entertaining and added to the story's entertainment. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.
