About this listen

A deadbeat with a criminal past. A husband with a dark secret.

When two seemingly unconnected cases collide, Ashley Montgomery will risk everything to right her wrongs and chase down the truth in this riveting legal thriller.

When Oliver Banks is charged with attempted murder after hitting a pedestrian with a car, Defense Attorney Ashley Montgomery is hesitant to take his case. Something is off about Oliver, and when troubling new information emerges, she begins to suspect he might be entangled in something far worse than this one crime.

Struggling to keep her PI agency afloat, Katie agrees to investigate a new client’s husband. Bruce Ross has been spending all his time in the garage but refusing to let anyone inside, and his pregnant wife, Vivian, is concerned about his behavior. But as Katie learns more about the family, she begins to suspect that Vivian isn’t telling the whole story either, especially when she discovers a connection between the Ross family and Ashley’s client.

As they work to uncover their clients’ secrets, Ashley and Katie soon realize that the two cases are intertwined. Now, they must work together to figure out the big picture before a secret plan results in a terrible tragedy.

Packed with dark suspense and unexpected twists, Unconditional Revenge is the sixth book in the gripping Ashley Montgomery legal thriller series, a must-listen for fans of Robin James.

Loved it!

Story 100 out of 10, I had no idea that I loved lawyer fiction this much. I'm a sci-fi reader all the way, for the past 35 years I have been checking out and listening to books from any Star Wars to all the Isaac Asimov I could find. I saw a video about this author on TikTok, I was between books, so I took a shot. Thank God I did. Im 6 books in and now I can tell you I can't wait for more.
This series follows a small town, public defender and her close allies as she goes about day to day... doing her job the best way she knows how despite others opinions. She's a brilliant lawyer that knows the law, she's like the lawyers you see in the movies or shows where one character, whom you think is smart and wise, says something but the seriously underestimated lawyer starts spouting off why the reasons tier argument is flawed along with the case law behind it.
I enjoyed the narration, easy to understand, flowed very well and stayed the same through the listen so I could concentrate on the story.
I personally feel this is another fine installment in the Ashley Montgomery series. I am still baffled at how much I have come to love this story after reading nothing but Sci-Fi/Fantasy my whole life.
I say well done author and if you haven't read her work, start with book 1. I can guarantee you'll be on this book in no time.

My only hope

My only hope is there are many more books in this series. Each book in the series could probably be as a stand alone but I wouldn’t recommend it, because you really miss the outstanding character development. This book at times tested my patience due to the discussion of current events but I needed to see where it would lead. And I was not disappointed. It is a risky business for an author to bring in current events but it was handled quite well, I knew I was right to trust the author. I have love the character development and hope I will see more of these characters in their next chapter of their lives. . I love books with strong women characters and this series hasn’t disappointed. Well done

If I could give a negative star I would

After stressing that she wasn’t political..she goes on to become the most SANCTIMONIOUS SELF RIGHTEOUS un-likable POLITICAL character I’ve ever read. And all male characters ‘bad’ female characters either victims or super heroes…to be honest I could have overlooked all the above (as I’ve done on occasion) IF the story was good… sadly this was not. A child that behaved like a 60 year old with a mother that made no sense… honestly try not to laugh if you do get this book.
just no…
