Publisher's summary

Two sweethearts find their new love put to the test in Book Four of USA Today bestselling author Caroline Fyffe's Prairie Hearts series.

Wyoming Territory, April 1883

After a disastrous marriage, Sheriff Albert Preston never expects to fall in love again...until a feisty, take-charge young woman sneaks past his defenses. Now, he'd like nothing more than to make Susanna Robinson his wife. But when a train crashes just outside of town, the secrets it carries threaten to derail his plans for a happy future.

Susanna Robinson adores everything about her new hometown of Logan Meadows. She loves her job at the café, the beauty of the night sky over Wyoming, and the handsome lawman by her side. But after learning a hard lesson about fickle hearts from her mother's bad example, she doubts she can commit to Albert. And when Albert's shocking secret comes to light, all her fears are confirmed. Will his steadfast, tender heart and gallant ways be enough to rebuild her trust in him?

Logan Meadows citizens deal with triumph and trage

Continued story of the the town of Logan Meadows. It was wonderful to visit these beloved characters and meet a few new ones as the townspeople valiantly manage the tragedy before them. Excellently woven tale of love, heartache, and courage in the face of difficulty.
I am anxious to visit with them again soon.

Under a Falling Star: Prairie Hearts, Book 4

Although, Under a Falling Star is the fourth book in the Prairie Hearts Series, it can certainly be enjoyed as a stand-alone title. That being said, I encourage you to read the previous three stories. It was Where the Wind Blows (Prairie Hearts - Book 1) that made me a Caroline Fyffe fan. Since 2012, I have read 14 of her historical fiction titles and haven’t been disappointed.

It was wonderful to once again visit with favorite characters from the previous three books; Chase Logan, Thom Donovan, Ivan, Charlie and Maddie Axelrose, Frank Lloyd and Mrs. Hollyhock.

I really felt for Susanna and Albert’s plight. As readers, it is easy to sit back and think, “Tell the secret”. Then we remember that not all people are open-minded and forgiving. It is also really difficult to know the appropriate time to share certain information. Relationships aren’t always easy. That is when the empathy returns.
I am just glad that regardless of their past hurts that they were willing to give each other a chance. It really is amazing that Albert didn't end up distrusting all women after what his wife pulled and that Susanna didn’t grow into a man-hating shrew after the baggage that her mother saddled her with.
Thankfully, Win and Hannah were willing to tell them what they needed to hear even when they weren’t willing to listen. I was so happy that Hannah explained to Susanna that her mother had wronged her by robbing her of her innocence and her dreams.

Apart from the love triangle, I enjoyed Laine for putting horrible Beth in her place! She has taken advantage of Mrs. Hollyhock for far too long.

The only thing that bothered me in this story was that I didn’t know who to root for because both Dalton and Albert were lovely. I loved that Caroline did that, because in life, there isn’t always a bad guy. Sometimes, the choice is between two really lovely people.

If you are looking at the product description and still wondering if you should take a chance on this book, you should know that the fifty chapters are filled to the brim.

Give Under a Falling Star a try. You won’t be disappointed. I certainly wasn’t!
Caroline, thank you so much for a wonderfully written tale.

Best Line: "You can bloody well tell her the reasons you left your man-loving, unfaithful lying wife behind."

2nd Best Line: “What in tarnation is goin’ on down here? You boys quit yer fightin’ this instant or I may have to give ya both a lickin’ with a willow switch. I ain’t too old ta do it, neither!”

I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review. I enjoyed it so much that I pre-ordered the audio-book version because the only thing better than reading Caroline Fyffe’s books are enjoying them in the audio format.

Great Story, great series.

Great Story, enjoyed the action in this book and the interaction with the characters for the last 3 books. Nicely narrated as well.
