Love this!

I don’t usually write reviews. I rate with stars, it don’t usually write. But this is a great start to what hopefully will be a long ongoing series! Keep them coming. Perfect narrator for this story, too. Light, amusing, a plot to follow along with, and fringed with romance. Love it!

Fun Read

This is my first from this author and I found it a fun easy read. It has a steady pace with in depth & relatable characters. The narrator did a good job bringing the story to life. I look forward to more from the author.

Narrator Claire Buchignani is sheer perfection! 😍

Words just can NOT describe how truly wonderful this book is! Writer Erik Schubach gives us a heroine we can all love, with OCD and all! Her name is Finnegan May, dogwalker extraordinaire. And she has landed herself a new client! Adding to her impressive client list of dogs, Calvin the Border Collie of Broadway superstar Abigail Renee Reeves is on her roster! Things with her New York City dog walking business take a turn for the worse when her new client is found dead before she returns from a stroll with 'the boys'. She isn't exactly ruled out as the killer though it is likely that the murderer was in the apartment when she was there to collect the dog for his stroll. Ironically, the woman detective investigating the murder is the one who answers her ad for a roommate. Unfortunately, the woman generates feelings in Finn after she discovers the detective had ended a relationship with another woman necessitating the new living arrangement.
As the investigation progresses, evidence suggests the murder was accidental and likely the result of Ms. Reeves surprising the thief when she returned home to get her script. Jewelry Ms. Reeves borrowed to wear for the lavish party she was throwing was the probable target as they were missing. Other expensive jewelry was also stolen and archival information points to other heists from the past. The theft links to someone working with the company catering Ms. Reeves' party. In the conclusion, Finn and the army of dogwalkers thwart the killer's ability to leave the city (and the country!) after they had fenced the stolen jewelry. When the will is read, Fin is Calvin's permanent caregiver.
Erik Schubach has earned me undying respect by portraying humble dogwalkers and lowly doormen as the soldiers behind the heroine whose sunny optimism and endearing personality shines throughout the entire narrative. The book was charming and fun with action, laughs, and delightful elements from one minute to the next. The world-building is rich as the writer uses the backdrop of New York City to describe the environs and lives of the characters. The growth of the book's players is evident not only where it is expected, but also with secondary characters. The woman detective was able to see dogwalker work as lucrative and dogwalkers potential to band together with others they encounter in their humble work to accomplish a major goal as a beneficial. Fin has a bisexual awakening that promises a new love interest for future books in this promising series.

Wow! Just wow!

I hope, with every fiber of my being, that this series continues for a long while. I see there is a second book and I’ve already purchased! Please please please keep these character going. I’m so invested in these characters, not just the main ones, either! And the narrator is perfect for this series. This is in my top five favorite audiobooks now. It had everything that I want in a book. And it just makes you feel so good inside! #witty #feelgood #lgbtqia #lesbian #romance #sweet #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

Mystery and romance

Great mystery with a little laughs and romance. I am a huge fan of Erik Schubach's work. His stories are great and he has a gift for finding the perfect narrator for each of his books. Claire Buchignani is new to me but I really enjoyed her narration. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone who likes romance or just like a cute funny story.
