Madison Avery looks down from her penthouse as a light flicks on in the building across the street, and a man and woman enter the vacant apartment. As the woman steps onto a large blue rug, the man raises his hand to the back of her neck.
The woman collapses, and Madison sucks in a breath. The man checks for a pulse then reaches into his pocket. He must be calling for help. But then Madison sees the glint of the knife.
She grabs her cell phone and dials 911. If the police don’t catch him now, she can’t help them later. Her prosopagnosia—facial blindness—won’t allow her to identify the man. Or his victim.
But the killer doesn’t have the same limitations.
He looks up and stares directly at her.
The phone slips from her hand, and everything goes black.

Again, the narrator Julie McKay is fab! McKay has a real way with telling a story that draws you right into the book. You feel the suspense, you are tied up in knots to solve the case right along with the characters. Great story!!
Captivating listen!

Shaye Archer, private detective, is stronger and is determined to solve the new clients problems, which are many. NO SPOILERS here, you will have to walk that trail of clues as I did. WOW! A must read.
This book is a great continuation in the series and will answer more of Shaye's questions as she tries to go on with her life after her own disasters in the past. But she continues forward to help others solve their own problems. For those who only want to start reading from here should know that this novel will stand alone as well. Background information needed is given to the reader--But I suggest to read the series because it is just so good.
MUST READ--Great series

In this one the witness has an interesting condition where she cant remember/recognize faces. Until this book I had never heard of this prosopagnosia disease before. I feel for those people for sure. Especially those with a killer after them.
These stories are fast paced and easy to follow along. Good mysteries thrillers.
As for the narration, it was better. Either Julie McKay is mellowing out on the "almost crying/panicking" character reading or I am just getting used to it. LOL I hope it is the former. I this this book, Shaye seemed to be talking in more normal tone and not like she was on the verge of crying or panic, which was a relief.
This is a good series and I am enjoying it. I like Jackson and I like that the relationship/romance is not taking over the stories.
Good story. I liked it. Narration was better too.
