About this listen

Five years have passed since Alex Toles walked away from the covert world of international espionage.

Alex spends her days as an instructor at the police academy, and her evenings coaching the local high school track team. Life in the Toles household has fallen into a familiar routine. Alex and her wife, Cassidy, have built their life around juggling the needs of their teenage son, a precocious seven-year-old, and a pair of equally mischievous twins. Their day to day world seems to hold more challenges and greater rewards for Alex than any case she ever sought to solve. All that is about to change.

A missing teenager's photography project will lead Alex into the woods of Connecticut and the twisted mind of a sadistic killer. Paired with an unlikely partner, Alex will face old ghosts and new demons as new adversaries shine light on shadows of the past.

Travel with Alex and Cassidy, Claire and Hawk, Rose and Helen, and the crazy Toles clan as they navigate an uncertain world and a growing family. Politicians and agents, moms and children, mishaps and new horizons - every person is part of a story, and some stories refuse to go Untold.

Untold

I love this series and have enjoyed each book more than the previous one. I love seeing Cassidy & Alex's family and the life they built. I'd love to see further stories following Alex's FBI cases. Thank you to the author for giving us this amazing series! The narrator does a fantastic job with a lot of characters but she still bring the story to life!

Tick Tock The Mouse Ran Up the Clock

Alex is called to consult with a search for a missing teenage girl. When a body is found in the woods of New York the FBI gets involved and Alex is drawn back to service. Partnered with Claire and working for Hawk the search for a serial killing nursery rhyme man is on. A suspenseful thriller with strong characters and tension. Narration marvelous.

I knew I could trust you, Nancy!

I admit that I was a lil skeptical on the serial killer angle, but she nailed it! This book is definitely up to par with the previous books in the series.

Love the characters. Squeamish about serial killer plot.

I sure hope the author isn't going to be writing lesbian version of the JD Robb In Death series. Pls don't ruin a good series by sliding further toward horror genre.
Narrator is excellent. She does many distinct and credible character voices.

Alex Cassandra Alex Alex Zaminski Alex

Alex Alexed toword her wife Cassandra "Cassandra, Alex Alex Kenz Speed?" Rose said "definitely! Cassandra Kenz Alex Alex, Alex." .... omg it's tedious to hear everyone's name twice per sentence. The story is great, the narrator is great, but the avoidance of pronouns is ssssoooo repetitive. As a gender agnostic pansexual I'VE NEVER CRAVED PRONOUNS SO BADLY IN MY LIFE. I feel like to get around this they could have used nicknames or pet names or just stopped saying names all together. It would not surprise me if there are several sentences in here that have Alex in the sentence three times at least. it wouldn't surprise me if there was a whole sentence in here made of like five Alex's in a row. I'm going to keep listening cuz I really enjoy The story.

in chapter 5 it finally happened." Alex said Dylan Dylan Dylan said.." the author put Dylan's name three times in a row.

A fifth book and as good as the other four

I listened to all five books of this series and I loved them all, so yes repeating specific parts for me was not necessary but it helps those who decide to read one or two later oops and not follow the whole series.
Story well written, kept me on the edge and narration as usual was wonderful helped the story a lot.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

As expected, Nancy Ann Healy delivers! Each book works as a stand alone, but I highly recommend enjoying the entire series in order. The characters are fully fleshed and the drama, intrigue, humor, and connection of characters will have you rooting for the good guys, despising the bad guys, laughing at the witty banter, and loving the heartfelt emotional stuff. There are
heroes. There is true evil. And there will be suspense and surprises. So worth the adventure. Thank you Nancy for doing what you do!! 👏🏾♥️
