About this listen

Dead. That’s what I am. What Verona believes. But now I have nothing to live for. Nothing else to lose.

A dark, sexy, modern Romeo and Juliet retelling.

Darius has all but erased me. He’s destroyed my house, stolen my sister and forced her to marry Otto to ensure they get my millions. And worse, far worse, he has his grubby hands on my Rose, and my daughter too. But what he doesn’t realise is he’s put the nail in his own coffin. I will have my vengeance this time, I will save my family, even if I have to destroy this entire city to do it.

Dead. He’s dead. Murdered. And now I’m stuck, playing the sunshine princess once more, only this time I have to endure far worse than Paris’s disgusting treatment. And I will. I will endure everything they send my way. I will do whatever it takes to protect my daughter, the last part of Roman that I have left. But what they’re starting to learn is that this princess isn’t just enduring. Oh no. I’m changing too. I’m twisting, evolving, becoming like the very monsters around me and very soon I will rise up and make them pay for every insult, every hurt, every bit of abuse we suffer.

Dual POV Duet. Angst AF.

This is a dark retelling, so please check the triggers. This duet is not for the faint hearted. Perfect for fans of H.D Carlton and Shantel Tessier. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!

This story was a powerful, emotionally charged retelling of Romeo and Juliet—but with a thrilling twist: this version delivers a hard-earned Happily Ever After.

From the very first chapter, Ellie grabs your attention with a richly layered world of tension, secrets, and forbidden love. Instead of being trapped by the tragic fate of its Shakespearean roots, Uprising pushes through the heartbreak and instead delivers a story of resilience, rebellion, and redemption. The star-crossed lovers at the heart of this tale are beautifully written—raw, flawed, and utterly captivating.

The audiobook narration deserves special praise. Amanda Willow and Jameson Adams bring undeniable chemistry to the lead roles, effortlessly capturing the push and pull of two people torn between duty and desire. Their duet-style narration adds depth and realism to every emotional beat. Bryant Walker’s performance rounds out the cast with gravitas, anchoring the story in its more intense and action-driven moments.

Together, this trio creates an immersive audio experience that elevates an already gripping story. The duet narration enhances the emotional intensity, making it feel like you’re living every moment alongside the characters.

If you’re a fan of modern retellings, forbidden romance, and stories that find light in the darkest places, Uprising is a must-listen. It’s a beautifully told story of love, sacrifice, and ultimately—hope.

Uprising picks up right where Downfall left off, and from the very beginning, I was pulled right back into the chaos, the heartbreak, and the high-stakes emotion. This book is packed with pain and devastation. Everything Rose goes through and everything we witness Sofia endure is heartbreaking. It really puts into perspective the extremes a mother will go to in order to protect her child. My heart ached for all of them.

The whole time, I was just waiting for Ronan to step in and save her… but even that wasn’t simple. And then those twists at the end? Not just one, but multiple, that completely floored and devastated me. I’m honestly not sure how much more Rose could possibly take. Just when you think she’s reached her limit, life throws another blow.

And the audiobook performance? Incredible. Amanda Willow gave such a raw, emotional portrayal of Rose, I felt everything she did. Bryant Walker as Ronan was magnetic. He captured that perfect balance of protector and morally gray anti-hero. He’s not your typical good guy, but you trust him to do whatever it takes. And Jameson Adams as Darius? Absolutely chilling. He brought an unsettling edge to the villain that made my skin crawl in the best way.

Ellie Sanders delivered a gripping, emotional conclusion to the Twisted Love Duet, and this full cast duet production elevated the entire experience.

I’m still sitting here…staring at the wall. Because Uprising has completely wrecked me.

This book picks up right where Downfall left off, and from the very beginning, it grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go. Just when you think Rose might finally catch a break—when escape, triumph, or even a moment of peace feels within reach—Ellie Sanders hits you with a devastating “nope.” It’s one of the most intense, emotionally charged roller coasters I’ve ever experienced in a book.

Amanda Willow’s performance as Rose is absolutely breathtaking. The vulnerability she pours into the character—the quiet strength, the raw emotion, the sheer will to survive—is nothing short of extraordinary. Rose endures unimaginable heartbreak and pain, and Amanda makes you feel every ounce of it. Her portrayal perfectly captures Rose’s resilience and fierce determination. It's truly an unforgettable performance.

Bryant Walker returns as Roman with the same unwavering strength and presence that made him so compelling in Downfall. The way he loves the two most important people in his life is so beautiful. His loyalty, courage, and unwavering heart shine even more in Uprising, grounding the story with much-needed hope and humanity.

Then there’s Jameson Adams. We only got a taste of him in the first book, but Uprising allows his talent to really shine—and wow, did he deliver. His character is truly one of the most vile, twisted, and evil I’ve ever read. Jamison plays him so perfectly, capturing every chilling, manipulative detail with such finesse that made my skin crawl

Despite how emotionally taxing this book was, I had to take several breaks just to breathe it stands as one of the most powerful, well-written, and expertly performed audiobooks I’ve ever experienced. Ellie Sanders doesn’t just tell a story; she builds a world that reaches into your chest and refuses to let go.

My mind is still blown by this book. And I think it will be for a long time.

Absolutely BRILLIANT.
