Abigail Foster fears she will end up a spinster, especially as she has little dowry to improve her charms and the one man she thought might marry her - a longtime friend - has fallen for her younger, prettier sister. When financial problems force her family to sell their London home, a strange solicitor arrives with an astounding offer: the use of a distant manor house abandoned for 18 years. The Fosters journey to imposing Pembrooke Park and are startled to find it entombed as it was abruptly left.

Love everything about this book!
Would you listen to Waiting for Summer's Return again? Why?
Yes. It was a very pleasant and entertaining listen. Although I am not familiar with Mennonite dialect, the narrator was likeable and quite enjoyable to listen to - good voice inflection and timing with her words.
Have you listened to any of Barbara Caruso’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I listened to Barbara Caruso narrate Anne of Green Gables. Loved her there, also!
Any additional comments?
This storyline was very easy to follow. Since I was listening while at work, this is exactly what I wanted. Barbara really

I loved it!
Kim Vogel Sawyer is one of my favorite authors. She always has characters that deal with real issues and grow through them. This book did not disappoint! And the performance was great too. At first the accent seemed awkward to listen to, but as I got into the story I wouldn’t have it any other way!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the narrator did a wonderful job. I’m a widow and also lost a son so I relate to the emotions of Summer, Peter and Nadine. Looking forward to the next in

Comfort Food
I am currently listening to it. I don't want it to end.
I had read the book a year or so ago and enjoyed it very much, but the narration by Barbara Caruso brings the characters to life. I would definitely re-read the book and re-listen to the audiobook.
