About this listen

Every night for the past four months, I've dreamed of being chosen for the trip to Calbora.

The others have grown comfortable in the safety of the station's bunks, praying their names won't be called.

Not me.

Every day since we got here, I've looked up and wondered.

Not anymore.

No one can know the real reason it matters so much, but one way or another...I'm getting on that ship.

Because I wasn't born to look up and wonder. I was born to get up and wander.

Full disclosure: I received a code from the author to listen to this book for free and to provide a review. The opinions are my own. I have listened to most of Craig A. Falconer's books and love his writing style. This story doesn't disappoint though I do have to admit that I don't ordinarily buy short stories by themselves but rather in anthology books. Without spoiling the plot the characters were engaging and it didn't take long to invest in the main character. While I felt the ending was a little anti-climactic and somewhat predictable to me, it left me wanting to see more of this character, the world and the many questions that we're left with that couldn't be explored in a 63 minute story. It is a great story to listen to before bedtime or in a short commute across town.

Another great but short story by Craig A. Falconer

I love the narrator and really was drawn to the character. I think many of us have been in this situation if only in our dreams. (Smile). You will really enjoy the ride. Too short for a credit, but buy it. It is definitely worth the cost.

This is a nice feel good story

I'm not a fan of short stories and would have loved more but that said this is another example of Craig Falconer's skill as a writer. Interesting and well written this sci-fi sizzler was the perfect length for my lengthy commute. The narration by Jack de Golia was great. I would definitely pick up another sizzler by Craig and Jack.

Agreed, It's Not Long Enough

This one was really cute! Reminded me of some other books I've read with the dame sort of going to a new planet vibe.

A fun slice of life

...that it wasn't longer! Craig A. Falconer is a great author and I've enjoyed all his books I've read. My only regret is that it wasn't a longer book. However, that's kind a nice feature of these Sizzler books of his -- they are short enough that you can get through them during one or two morning and afternoon commute days, or while out for a walk. At first I wasn't sure about the narrator, but he quickly became the voice of the main character for me and I loved the story. I used to read short stories but fell out of the habit -- I could get back into it easily if the rest of the Sizzler books are like this one!

Only One Regret...
