About this listen

The Web, a vast machine intelligence of unbelievable power, is steadily consuming the galaxy, indifferent to any species that stands in its way. Fighting the Web brings together an alliance between disparate societies and alien civilizations that must stand against it in battle. And overcoming the Web means learning where it came from, what goals drive its single-minded advance, and, ultimately, what the future holds for intelligent life in the universe.

Okay, I really like this story and how it has developed in the last few books. The main caveat that I have with this one is that the author spends a bit too much time reviewing previous material at various places in the story. I'm not sure if this style of recapping every few chapters is useful to those who haven't read the previous books, but I found it a bit irritating.

Great continuation of the story, with a caveat

Love the size and scope of these books. Also love how fantastic and yet realistic they are.

I want to read these books again. So good.

Too much history and techno babble that overshadowed and sometimes buried the story. Made listening monotonous and boring.

To say that this installment was a waste of my time would be to give it way too much credit. The actual 'story' ended in the first book. At this point the author repeats story points from that book as well as points that he has made earlier in THIS book. Frankly, since it seems that he has run outta stuff to say to advance the story, he might consider shutting up. (harsh, but at 21 bucks I feel like I get to be harsh.)
