About this listen
"Gary N. and Helen W. Trank of 66 Colstone Boulevard take great pleasure in announcing the recent nuptials of their daughter Pamela Ann, and Brett Cornell...."
The above words appeared in the local newspaper, and thousands of women throughout the city immediately went into mourning!
Well, not exactly.
But private detective and self-proclaimed unscrupulous bastard Brett Cornell nearly went into cardiac arrest when, shortly thereafter, he received a personal home visit from Homicide Lieutenant James Wilson.
It seems that a beautiful young heiress had been found dead in a hotel suite under mysterious circumstances, and it wasn't clear whether she could be identified as Pamela Ann Trank...Pamela Ann Densen...or Pamela Ann Cornell!
Will a short walk down the aisle result in an extended prison sentence for our poor, put-upon hero?
Brett once again lets his weakness for money and his fascination with beautiful women get the better of him in this fourth Brett Cornell novel set in the late 1980s.

This is the nine-book series of comedy-mysteries featuring the tough and crass, wise-cracking private detective who happens to be a hugely successful ladies' man. In a series of tales involving murder, blackmail, and other assorted acts of violence and deceit, Brett learns the hard way that there's a steep price to be paid for being such an unscrupulous bastard. Not recommended for the politically-correct crowd.

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

Hank is a thug. He knows he's a thug. He has no problem with that realization. In his view the galaxy has given him a gift: a mutation that allows him to withstand great deals of physical trauma. He puts his abilities to the best use possible and that isn't by being a scientist. Besides, the space station Belvaille doesn't need scientists. It is not, generally, a thinking person's locale. It is the remotest habitation in the entire Colmarian Confederation. There is literally no reason to be there.

Another great addition to the series
The unscrupulous bastard is back in Wedding Bells for Brett! As always, David D'Aguanno has such a clever and funny writing style that you just want to continue listening.
Travis Henry Carter's narration is spot on and just makes Brett sound so believable. I just love these stories and can't get enough of them!
I know Bretts antics aren't for everyone but if you're open minded when you listen you'll really hear some funny and great stories! I can't wait to listen to the next one!

My word...
Brett is at it again, this time he's getting 'married', well sort of.
I still don't know how Brett always finds so much trouble, but he always comes out smelling like roses. A fake wedding, a murdered bride and Brett is right smack dab in the middle of it all.
Good story and I love how Travis Henry Carter depicts the voice of Brett, it suits the character perfectly.

Very funny
This was my first Brett Cornell book. At first I didn't know what to think since he is such an arrogant jerk but as I continued to listen to him I found myself laughing and had to continue on. I'm sure we all know someone a little bit like Brett. So full of himself and used to getting what he wants. The narrator was absolutely perfect as Brett. He really did a great job with this. A true masterpiece
Any additional comments?
This was a first at listening to an audiobook, and well, I think I found my new entertainment on long road trips. The story itself was put together well. I loved Brett, well as much as anyone could. He was so arrogant that I couldn't help but to laugh at his antics. The pacing and momentum of the storyline held my interest from the beginning to the end, not a dull moment anywhere. I would definitely recommend this audio, or book, to everyone that likes good humor and some bit of mystery.

Funny and Entertaining
Wedding Bells for Brett is the 4th book in the Brett Cornell series of mysteries by David D’Aguanno. I reviewd two other audiobooks by this author in the past and I find myself checking out more and more of his previously released works.
Brett Cornell is not your regular Private Investigator. He has no redeeming traits or qualities… Actually, he is a drunk, a cheat, a thief, a misogynistic pig and a liar with his mind only on sex, money and how to get in bed with all the humans of the female persuasion, no matter the costs or the consequences.
If you add that he is not the brightest bulb in the bunch and that, at times, he is really stupid, you might cut him some slack and enjoy this hilariously funny novel…
Set in the late 1980’s, like all the other books in this series, Wedding Bells for Brett finds our ”hero” in big trouble after his ”wife” is found dead in a hotel room under mysterious circumstances and the Police come knocking at the self proclaimed unscrupulous bastard’s door. They have some serious questions regarding Brett‘s whereabouts and he must have some good answers or his short walk down the aisle can transform into a long stay in prison…
What will happen to the poor soul? Can he extricate himself from this very unpleasant situation? Well, you’ll need to give a listen to the audiobook if you want to find out.
A word of caution for those new to this series.
At no moment what so ever should you take Brett seriously, just think of the story as a well-written parody. You’ll discover all his ”attributes” in the first five minutes with Wedding Bells for Brett and you might be wanting to put the book down or to stop listening, but I think that if you give him a chance, he will grow on you.
But, if you are offended by such characters and can’t stand them, this series is not for you. What I suggest is to just take it as a purely fictional story with a corn-for-brains main character. This way, you will find yourself smiling a lot and enjoying it as well.
The audiobook version of Wedding Bells for Brett is brought to life by voiceover artist, actor and narrator Travis Henry Carter with talent, intensity and a unique delivery. He reads the entire book using a wiseguy accent that gives it a complete level of immersion. He uses a large number of voices to entertain the listener and to help him keep all the different characters separate in his mind.
Travis manages to enrich the entire narrative experience with humor and a sense of continuity that is predominant for the whole series. There were no problems with the quality of the recording and I had a really good time listening to Wedding Bells for Brett.
If you are looking for a quick, funny and entertaining listen, I strongly recommend Wedding Bells for Brett by David D’Aguanno and performed by Travis Henry Carter. If this is your first contact with this series, you are in for a big surprise. Good or bad, that depends only on your taste and on how evolved your sense of humor is.
I post reviews at the author / narrator / publisher’s request. Get in touch with me for more details. If you like this review please vote Helpful below and find more of them here on Audible and on theAudiobookBlog dot com.

One of my favs!
Another awesome Brett Mystery! Brett may be the central unscrupulous bastard in these stories, but he's certainly not the only one--the villain in this one is a pretty nasty fellow himself (albeit a pretty funny and well-written character). One thing I really like about these stories is the author does away with the simple good vs. evil thing and pits likable and unlikable bad guys against each other. It makes for really unique and hilarious stories. Highly recommended!
