Hank is a thug. He knows he's a thug. He has no problem with that realization. In his view the galaxy has given him a gift: a mutation that allows him to withstand great deals of physical trauma. He puts his abilities to the best use possible and that isn't by being a scientist.
Besides, the space station Belvaille doesn't need scientists. It is not, generally, a thinking person's locale. It is the remotest habitation in the entire Colmarian Confederation. There is literally no reason to be there.
Unless you are a criminal.
Because of its location, Belvaille is populated with nothing but crooks. Every day is a series of power struggles between the crime bosses.
Hank is an intrinsic part of this community as a premier gang negotiator. Not because he is eloquent or brilliant or an expert combatant, but because if you shoot him in the face he keeps on talking.
Hank believes he has it pretty good until a beautiful and mysterious blue woman enters his life with a compelling job offer.
Hank and Belvaille, so long out of public scrutiny, suddenly find themselves the epicenter of the galaxy with a lot of very unwelcome attention.

What made the experience of listening to Hard Luck Hank: Screw the Galaxy the most enjoyable?
This was a great story. It was funny, and there were some nice plot twists and jokes. It wasn't the best written novel I have ever read. It was very Campy. Kind of like the book version of a b-flick movie. This is definitely a guilty pleasure bookWho was your favorite character and why?

Narration incorporates true sarcasm and sardonism creating Hank not only audibly but visibly in the mind. The comedy, style, interpolation of characters is intriguingly delightful.Who was your favorite character and why?

What did you love best about Hard Luck Hank: Screw the Galaxy?
Although a slow buildup, once you get to the core of the book (past the the who's who and what's what), it constantly keeps you engaged and entertained. I had several moments I just forgot the rest of the world existed when I was lost in the world of Hard Luck Hank. What did you like best about this story?
Hank was a refreshing change of character. He wasn't just the run and gun type character even though he was fully capable. He was intelligent (even though dumb in some ways) and found solutions in entertaining ways. The book was full of other characters pulling something out of a hat and doing the unexpected.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I laughed quite a few times throughout this book. I'm pretty sure my wife was starting to wonder about me by the end of this book.Great series I never expected to find!
