Short and Useful

As a 4th year teacher, I agree with everything mentioned in this book. I love how honest the author is and how well he explained his reasoning. All educators can benefit from reading this short book.

Great is better than good.

Easy to listen to and it makes sense! We have teachers doing this in our buildings!! We have to support/train those who are not great (don’t ignore them) so that our great teachers will continue to be great in our building

like a friendly slap in the face

It reminds your of the reasons you got into teaching and calls on you (hand raised or not) to answer that call. It has great and actionable, common sense steps to get you back on track. I hope I can start applying it Monday!

Practical reminders

Nearing my 19th year of teaching, I can see how some of my recent struggles are as a result of lapsing into behavior that does not match my beliefs. This book is filled with practical reminders about what kind of teacher I want to be every single day, all of the time. I highly recommend this book to all teachers at every stage of their career because no matter how great you are, we all benefit from reflection and self-improvement and, ultimately, our students are the ones who will be important most.

Meets expectations

Information as expected by the title. Worth careful consideration even for non-teachers to improve how we coach and mentor anyone.
