Life changing

This book is life changing. My sin was called out, but I know I’m forgiven. I have life changes to make, priorities to revisit, and confessions to share. I will now consider myself a recovering people pleaser.

Glad I’m not the only one

So glad to confirm that I’m not the only one going through this. This helps me have a plan for my personal development and that’s really what I needed the most.

Warning: Extremely Christian!

The book had some really good things to say and she did add some research in there, but it is heavily Christian with a lot of scripture and the general point being to put God first in your life. I did not realize this book was even going to be a Christian one, but the narrator did a good job and she did have a lot of interesting personal stories and things to say. That being said, if I had known how much of it would be sermons, I would’ve passed on it.

Just ok

I wanted to love this but it felt like other author’s book/ideas were re-written in her own words and she just added her life stories or examples. There were a lot of times I thought, “I should have just bought that persons (woman she references a lot) book instead.”

Ok read

I really wish the author had gotten a professional narrator to read the book. I don’t know why authors feel the need to narrate their own books. It really makes a difference having a professional personnarrate. Her voice was just very boring to m, also although the information was good it was pretty basic. There was nothing earth shattering or illuminating. I suppose if you are very young and a new believer, you might find the information helpful, but there was really nothing in this book that I hadn’t already heard before. I feel like Brené Brown‘s books on shame are way more illuminating.
