About this listen

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Helena Hunting comes a new story in her Pucked series. The untold story of Skye and Sidney, and the origin story where Vi and Miller are teens when their parents start dating and fall in love...

I accidentally grabbed the wrong drink at the coffee shop. On the upside, the hot guy it belonged to chased me down to kindly swap with me. On the down side, the reason I grabbed the wrong drink in the first place is because the hot guy had just caught me checking out his ass…sets.

In my defense, his rear view is rather magnificent.

In true, humiliating form, I word-vomited a bunch of horrible nonsense. Including an unnecessary explanation of the trauma I’d evaded thanks to his chasing me down. Nothing could ruin my lactose-intolerant day faster than my one true nemesis: dairy.

I did not expect him to ask me out on a date after that.

I also didn’t expect the date to go well since my tendency to truth-vomit is high, and not everyone finds that quality endearing.

But apparently he does. Because he asks me out again.
And again.

Sidney Butterson (yes, it’s a weird last name) ticks all my boxes.
He's smart, he's funny, he's employed and he's ridiculously hot.
There’s one catch.

We’re both single parents. With teens.

And if our kids don’t like each other?
Well, we’re doomed.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Entertaining

Teenage Violet, Buck and Randy OMG, love it. This was entertaining, informative, and explains so much. The terms were hilarious and her relationship with her mom Skye was awesome. Buck and Sydney relationship was also great. This was awesome and loved every minute of it. Really Love Joe Arden wish he would have had more parts.

Where it all began!

This was a wonderful flashback to the Pucked world. Learning about Sky and Sydney was great. And teenage Miller and Violet! Hilarious and fun, as always! Thanks Helena Hunting!

Sky and Sidney’s Origin Story

This is Sky and Sidney’s origin story. Sky is Violet’s mom and Sidney is Buck’s dad, and it was a pretty funny story. It was a lot of fun reading how their family came to be. It was fun to see teenage Randy, Violet, and Buck. Helena Hunting can write some pretty cringy things, but her steamy scenes are not cringy. I really enjoyed it this one!

Fun Novella

This was everything I wanted it to be! It was so fun to see how Skye and Sidney met and to see them as the awesome parents that I figured they would be from Violet & Buck's stories in the Pucked series. It was a treat to see Violet & Buck as teens and to see how their relationship as step-siblings progressed. You get the sense that they really cared for one another as siblings and how it carries over into the rest of the series. Another great read from Helena Hunting and a fabulous addition to the Pucked series of books.

This novella can be read without having read the Pucked series, in fact it's a great place to begin if you are new to Helena Hunting. That's one of the best things about the stories from 1001 Dark Nights & Blue Box Press, you get to try on a new author and discover a new world to dive into.

Stellar narration from Joe Arden and Erin Mallon, two of my all time favorite narrators.

So good!

It was so fun seeing the backstory of Violet and Miller's parents. We got to see how the infamous wedding moment played out, too. ❤️❤️❤️

Realistic and Creative!

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Joe Arden and Erin Mallon are two of my favorite narrators, and they did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. It was a fun prequel story, and makes me want to re-experience the the series that follows (and I am not usually a repeat listener/reader). The characters are people I wish I could meet, and I found the whole idea of both Sidney and Skye being single parents of teens to be a wonderful creative feature of the story.

Joe and Erin are fantastic again!

This book is not one to be skipped, but especially don't skip this audio book! Joe and Erin knock it out of the ballpark again, and I will forever pick up anything either of them record! I do have to say, though, that the recording quality on this was subpar. That was not a Joe/Erin/Helena issue, but a sound/equipment/editing issue. It bothered me the entire time, so I guess thankfully this book was short?

This book is the prequel to all of the Pucked series. This is one of the first relationships- Sidney and Skye. This is also the story of when Vi and Miller/Buck are teens (We also get a glimpse at Randy's life)

When Sidney Butterson grabbed the wrong drink at the coffee shop, it was a stroke of good luck. He had been eyeing the beautiful woman he kept seeing in here for weeks. This would give him an opportunity to talk to her! But when he caught up to her on the street, she incoherently told me no and to back off. But I was persistent.

Skye- After my truth vomit on the street corner, I was sure I would never hear from Sidney ever again, but we ended up on a date, and I'm glad he didn't stop hounding me, because he is everything I could have wanted in a partner and more!

Both Sidney and Skye are single parents to teenagers in high school, which makes dating a thousand times harder. It makes having alone time almost impossible! And in true Helena form, she makes all encounters sweet, but hilariously awkward.

I always walk away from Helena's books with a smile on my face, and the best quotes to share with my friends on IG on why they should read it! This one was no exception! I loved everything about this book, and I can't wait to add it to the rotation of books I read over and over!
