Sidney, isolated and tormented, on her own...

Months after bringing down the last mark on the Black Slate, Sidney finds herself more isolated than ever. Buried in paperwork at the FBI, her feelings about the Deep Black operation begin to fester. Just when she’s about to lose it, Section Chief Ted Howard intervenes.

A butcher on the loose...

The Black Slate has another assignment, but there’s a problem: John Smoke is nowhere to be found. Enter Mason Crow, the next name on the Slate. The file indicates that the man is an international butcher and has now taken his brutality to DC. Sid must find him, but will she be able to do it on her own?

A chain of chaos...

A mysterious reporter, Russ Davenport, tracks Sid down with some vital information, only to be shot down in the streets. A fire ravages Allison’s and Megan’s apartment building, and Sid is faced with identifying the charred bodies found inside.

With her life quickly turning upside down, Sid finds herself in a labyrinth of new supernatural horrors she never before imagined. Will Smoke be there for Sidney, or will she have to be there for him?

Mystery, intrigue, and Halloran!

Where's There's Smoke is the third book in Craig Halloran's Supernatural Bounty Hunter Files Series, and won't make too much sense without reading the first two books; Smoke Rising, & I Smell Smoke, respectively.

Shaw is at it again, after the reveal that maybe the government isn't the infallible institution she believed. Teaming up with John Smoke, after deciding that maybe the kids who were kidnapped were more important than she initially thought.

With John Smoke's help, Shaw continues her journey into the supernatural, as the truths become more clear to her.

This book makes the first two a lot more complete, answering questions that have been gnawing at me, especially after reading book two; I smell smoke.

Though there are still some questions that are left unanswered, the story is wrapping up some portions of the plot, and picks up the intrigue where the last one left off.

I have said previously, in my reviews, that I believe Holly Adams to be excellent "casting" for these novels. With her gritty, devil may care attitude, her readings truly fufill the atmosphere of the Supernatural Bounty Hunter Files Series. She gives both the noir feeling, and yet adds a level of compassion to the characters that it elevates the series to a whole new level.

I would recommend this book, this series, to the fans of film noir, American Hard Boiled fiction, Black List, Thomas Harris, Supernatural, Anita Blake, and true crime.

Great supernatural experience

Another great one in the series. Better if you read from the beginning but I really like the characters and the story
