Publisher's summary

Izzy Calabrese wants to make her restaurant a success. She has a passion for cooking and life in general. Romance is the furthest thing from her mind when she finds Mel Thomas crying after being abandoned by her husband...again. She tries to distance herself from Mel, but she keeps showing up.

Clients know Mel Thomas as the CEO of her own consulting firm. She's smart, engaging, and successful. Anyone who knows her would never think she's insecure, but she's more fragile than anyone knows. Her marriage on shaky ground, she doesn't know how, or if, it can be salvaged. All she's ever wanted in a relationship is someone's attention. She thinks she may have found the person who can give that to her. Never in her wildest dreams did she expect it to be Izzy.

I enjoyed this book thoroughly!!

Overall, this was a great book!! This was a first time read for this author and i have to say i was somewhat impressed and happy with the book. The characters were quirky and had a lot of character. They also had great chemistry even though it took a min for it to show. There were moments in the book when i was almost downright upset with Victoria, but she redeemed herself in the end. Both characters were fairly interesting and believable as well, which made the story even better. The narrator also did a great job. I love listening to books she narrates...its just something about her voice that catches me! Overall, i'm pleased with having purchased this book and look forward to listening/reading more of this author!

Good but too long!

The storyline didn’t warrant this long a book. It dragged out a little too much. Overall it was decent just too long for audio. I probably would have put the book down several times out of frustration.

Excellent Audio!

I enjoyed Where the Light Glows. I really liked the character of Izzy and the stories of behind the scenes at a successful restaurant. Mel has her share of problems. But it gets worked out. Love AJ Ferraro's narration.

Good story but...

It was a good story but just a couple of hours too long. How many times can you lose the girl? Great premise though. Unable to give it more than an average 3.

To much assuming. Where do they think of these airheads? Oh yeah you can smell sex.

If the Repetition was the Only Problem

Even if the author had written a believable plot line, with characters that didn't seem to be copied from a bad Rom-com or even worse, a failed television pilot it would have still been way too long; I counted it as a victory that I was able to get under 2 hours left before giving it up.
Mel is an executive in a loosely related public relations company. Loosely related in the sense that the author doesn't relate many facts, details or facets about said corporation. Further factors that make this book so lame are stereotypical bit players and the fact that Mel is about as in touch with her emotions as the average death row inmate. Then there is Izzy, the other lead character. There are several factors that are far less than realistic but perhaps that though her psycho stalker ex keeps causing her problems with Mel, and not to put too fine a point on it is a psycho stalker, Izzy continues to put up with her uh, stuff. Oh yeah the ex somehow manages to ambush kiss Izzy whenever she manages to run her to ground, the remarkable thing about this being that Izzy is always surprised by this.
Perhaps if the author had kept the book's length to six or seven hours it might have been able to escape the dreaded thumbs down; or not. As it is, my recommendation is to pass on this one.

On and on

The book was too long for the story. The story needed to move faster and not repeat situations.
