About this listen

A Delicious Christmas Romance – Only Available on Audible

Love. Success. Baking. Some things are all about timing.

Set against a backdrop of glamorous balls and designer fashion in beautiful, fairy-tale-like Vienna, the Golden Whisk competition promises everything for Gina Rajasinghe: it’s her big break, a chance to prove herself and win international recognition in the culinary world. The opulent concert halls and charming Christmas markets are a far cry from her humble café in Hackney, where she’s been working hard to perfect her baking skills. If only she could relax and enjoy herself, instead of worrying about her application, and the one or two tiny lies on there. Such as the professional training she never had.

And then there’s Nick Barradine to worry about, fellow competitor and media darling who seems to have it all: money, success, and his own patisserie cafés that have been heralded on both sides of the Atlantic. Oh, and he used to work with Gina. In fact, they used to be close: Nick helped train Gina at his family’s prestigious Barradine’s café back in London, until she disappeared three years ago without an explanation.

It seems they must learn how to work together again, but more than sparks fly when Nick confronts Gina about their shared past. And now there’s a video of the two of them on social media...

Superbly narrated by Jeremy Irvine and Ritu Arya, Whisked Away at Christmas is the perfect festive romance for listeners with a sweet tooth: a must-listen for fans of Jasmine Guillory or Jessica Redland.

Take a chance! Solid 4 stars and 10+ for narration. Both characters’ voices were *perfect* and particularly the female lead—her English accent sounded so posh. I hung on every syllable. Very enjoyable listen 🤗

I quickly became enmesh in these characters. I’m baffled by the lower percentage on Goodreads. This book has it all. Deep emotional writing, and outstanding character development. I listened to the amazing narrators. A very happy reader and listener!

My Musings

The baking competition is very competitive. Some have integrity and some do not. There is definitely a lesson to be learned in this sweet and clean Christmas romance. Good narration.

Stiff Competition

I liked the simplicity of this. Just a fun read - romantic but not too graphic.

Cute little listen

This was Top Chef mixed with the Great British Baking show. And all at Christmas in Vienna. Just the right amount of skulduggery to not be too over the top romantic.
While I loved the voices of the narrators I found it confusing that there was not a change in voice for when Nick was speaking vs Gina. Generally narrators change their voice just a bit. But overall entertaining.

Fun story

Great performance! I loved their voices. It was an easy listen with an interesting storyline.

Sweet Story

Although the ending was a little weak and predictable, (and when did all romances start adding on a special “Epilogue “ chapter???), this was still super fun and entertaining. The food scenes were really good; the whole thing makes me want to go to Vienna in the winter.

Loved this story!

A worthwhile read for anyone who enjoys a romance with substance. Particularly enjoyable if you are a fan of the Great British Baking show
