Publisher's summary

Whit and Wisty Allgood have sacrificed everything to lead the resistance against the merciless totalitarian regime that governs their world. Its supreme leader, The One Who Is The One, has banned everything they hold dear: books, music, art, and imagination. But the growing strength of the siblings' magic hasn't been enough to stop the One's evil rampage, and now he's executed the only family they had left.

Wisty knows that the time has finally come for her to face The One. But her fight and her fire only channel more power to this already invincible being. How can she and Whit possibly prepare for their imminent showdown with the ruthless villain that devastated their world-before he can truly become all-powerful?

In this stunning third installment of the epic Witch & Wizard series, the stakes have never been higher - and the consequences will change everything.

Great book

If you made it to the third book, you'll love it. In other words, you've obviously read through books one and two. If you enjoyed those enough to even consider book three, you're good to go.

Glad I read it, moving on.

Grr! I should give this two stars! Patterson or publishers decided not to have text-to-speech enabled. I was too tired to try to just read it. So I downloaded the Audible version to assist me in reading the Kindle version. That made this a very expensive read. The narrators were good. The story was fun. I wish I could say I hated it. But I was glad to see this story ended. In fact, I think the story could have ended two or three chapters before it actually did. Let the imagination tie up the loose ends. Oh, well. Thousands of books to read. Happy to move on.

Continuing with the collection

Is there anything you would change about this book?

There is one thing I would change and that would be a brief history or summery of the prior books. This story jumps right in but it's not a stand alone story so if you didn't read last two books you would be lost.

Would you be willing to try another book from James Patterson and Jill Dembowski ? Why or why not?

The style of the authors is good, they keep the reader interested. This is geared toward young adults and as an adult I often follow authors of this genre so I'd be willing to try another book from them.

Have you listened to any of Elijah Wood and Spencer Locke ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I have only heard these actors in this book series.

Could you see Witch & Wizard: The Fire being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No, a movie maybe but not a TV series. There isn't enough new material to fill the interest of the watcher.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed this book because I enjoyed the first two. But as usual in any series the story line starts to get old. The First book was definitely the best.

Good, not great

What made the experience of listening to Witch & Wizard: The Fire the most enjoyable?

I enjoyed the continuation of the overall storyline.

What did you like best about this story?

The learning curve of the kids learning to control their powers. You didn't know where the next use of their power would take them.

Which character ??? as performed by Elijah Wood and Spencer Locke ??? was your favorite?

Both were good, I would not pick one over the other.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No!

Any additional comments?

I was disappointed with the writing. Patterson has books that are written a lot better.

This series is a gem!

James Patterson is always amazing, but this series has been having me on the edge of my seat. I’ve read the actual, hard books for the other books in this series, but the audio was nicely done. I was pleasantly surprised!
