without giving too much away, I'll try this.
for Christ's sake stop talking about partially collapsing a Star to save the chick. they literally recount that single event 12 times and it didn't even have bearing on the overall story. they also make the SAME JOKE 4 times and talk about it as if it was a new joke each time.
lira makes it, Victor does, even the damned AI does... they all act as it's new each and every time. it's annoying, isn't it?

I started listening to this series because I got the first two books for free under my Audible membership. Since then I have purchased each of the other books. Why? Because the entire series is worth it! The story is great, the plots are believable, the characters and their development make sense, the narration is top notch!! This book is no different!

Different world, different dark metal source - but once again Dash is able to bring additional allies onboard with needed abilities! And as the story progresses the questions I have are answered - maybe slowly - but they are answered. So, I just need to be a bit more patient.

The story is good if you like good guys winning (mostly) and not forever making stupid predictable mistakes but at about 7 hrs in length for each book, at 30.00 pretty non unless you but credits so far this book is easily 210.00. and with 9 or 10 more books to go, OMG. B.V. Larson books run between 12-17 hrs [undying mercenaries series] and around 12.00-19.00 per book, much better deal and just add fun! cheaper to. I used to buy books on Kindle for 2.99 and fire 7.49 extra get the Audible edition, I guess certain entities felt they weren't getting their cut 😞

This is the first of the series that I have written about. So far I have not only been satisfied with the series, but I am also totally hooked! The growth of Dash and his crew has been awesome to behold! This series is definitely one of my all time favorites!

I can’t wait for the next book! The authors do a great job giving the characters personalities and the narrator brings them to life! And giant mechs, what more could you want!

I have listened to each of these and have enjoyed them all. Looking forward to the rest. I'm so glad they're releasing this in a timely manner. Seems like a new audiobook every 4-6 weeks, which makes it easy to remember what happened.

The storyline is interesting as are the characters; albeit some could be better developed. I wish for more strategy and world building and less combat. With the forge such a mystery, the authors could have built more intrigue.

Just think about Rendezvous with Rama. No battles, alien architecture, and total suspense. I’m not saying the messenger series should have no battles just fewer. And more focus on some of the other characters and strategies to fight the golden.

And as always, I am happy to fall asleep listening to Jeffrey Kafka.
