Having read the previous two Kingcaid books, Johanis was portrayed as such a dark person. It seems hard to believe there is any hope for him. This is really a challenge for love to heal both his and Ella’s pain. A beautiful tale. I enjoyed it, and was pleasantly surprised by how satisfying and complete Johanis’ story grows.

First of all the southern accent of the female narrator is way over the top for me, it’s hard to listening too. There is a lot of “telling” instead of showing, and the dual POV is taking all tension out of the equation.

Horrible narration. I had to stop listening and just read the book. It was okay but I was frustrated with narration. I lost a credit.
