It’s a book about common sense

I loved it. Vivienne’s voice was beautiful and calming and didn’t distract from the book as some tend to do. It was like I was listening to a book of wisdom and Eleanor acknowledging her privileges as she writes was also something that made me want to dive in more deeply. I want to give it another listen in the near future. Informative and a Great book!

Atemporal

timeless

I read this book because I was a teacher and will soon again be teaching however in a much different environment.Ms. Roosevelt does a spectacular job of illustrating the ways in which people everywhere learn. Altouugh there was some parts of this book where it would be easy to dismiss her discussionsbased on the fact that she live in an elite section of society, her insights apply to all cultures as we are all human. All in all I found her considerations to be valid, no matter the year or student.

Sj

Excellent, timeless wisdom. Principles still fully apply today. Addresses historic times without taking away from the here and now- honoring traditions and changes in our system respectfully. Honoring wisdom of both family and individual and their responsibilities to themselves as well as that toward the community in which one lives and how it ultimately relates to the greater world. Should be required reading as a citizen of the country and our world. Compassionate, clear, yet discipline required of every individual to forge ahead to learn all we can as we contribute through our thoughts and actions to society.
