Publisher's summary

One Heretic. One Apostle.

She's lost in space. He's being hunted by a world-wide government.

How do you cope when you find you've lost 28 years and your homeworld is falling apart? How do you fight when you haven't been taught? How far do you run when the whole world is looking for you? How do you survive in the middle of a radioactive wasteland?

Forced from hiding, John seeks a way to bring down the Regime. Joined by an unexpected ally, he flees across the globe seeking both sanctuary and answers. On the edge of known space, the Heretic has to repair a crippled ship and discover the state of the worlds she left behind.

John's faith in a mythical figure return carries him forward. But how will that faith protect him from the Regime?

Will the Witch of the Federation return in time to save him and a world that takes her name in vain?

It's jarring to hear a very different voice

Having listened to the audiobooks of the Witch of the Federation series it was very jarring to hear this narrator creating very different voices - and, therefore, characters - for the familiar characters from the preceding series. Overall I have liked these books and the narrator, other than this discontinuity.

Another great story

The story as always is really good.
I just can’t get over the narration.
The pronunciation is so different and the main character is Australian but the voice he is given just makes him sound like he lacks intelligence.

TOO MANY POV'S

while it may have been necessary to tell the story, I didn't care for the POV shifts, additionally, I never liked ivy, and was glad they separated and I skipped chapters with her, however they have met up again. and I still don't like her interaction with MC she comes off as very annoying, IMO she brings nothing to the table and becomes a weakness and liability .
