Is there a part 2

It hurt my heart in the end….but there was just a bit of joy. It started out slow….but eventually picked up where it needed too. There are parts of the book where I could swear I was in this mini horror thriller.

The twists and how I never knew what would happened next

I adore the narrator who preformed the reading, it got me very attached and drew me in more and more. The story is phenomenal as well, I could hardly wait for the next chapter.

Creepy Slow Burn

I didn’t know what to expect going into this outside of maybe a Friday the 13th knock-off. Yeah it does sort of have that, but the slow burn to the horror was worth the investment. The twists aren’t amazing, but two of them really did catch me off-guard at the finale

Loved the ending

I started this hoping for a comfort read and expecting a run of the mill slasher. I got that but also got characters I loved and an unexpected double twist ending!

So good !

A five star, ya thriller+horror, for when it’s still sweltering outside but you’re ready for fall.

A Great Cover and a Great Teen Slasher

I wanted to read this from the moment I laid eyes upon this amazing cover. I wasn't disappointed when I finally picked it up. This was a short, fun and campy slasher and I loved it. It reminded me a lot of R.L. Stine's "Fear Street" books and the Netflix movies.

I really enjoyed the premise of this, with Camp Mirror Lake being the home to a slasher movie experience. It was fun seeing how they would plan out the scenarios, deciding if who got to be the "winner" and making all the fake blood to convince their guests. Charity was such a great character to follow, and I enjoyed her relationship with her girlfriend. The ending was campy as hell, and I really enjoyed it. While it may not be for everyone, it hit the mark for me.

Overall, this gave me all of the summer camp slasher vibes I was looking for when I picked it up. In my opinion, this is a great end of summer read.
