No, the love of great bands like Led Zeppelin is developed and discovered as one grows into adulthood. Comedian John Mulaney (Oh, Hello on Broadway, Saturday Night Live, The Comeback Kid on Netflix) tells a story about finding music and learning hard truths, as he takes Eugene Mirman back to a pivotal summer of his youth.

There’s an interesting story behind the title of this audio, which was recorded at the Crooker Theatre in Brunswick, Maine, in the summer of 1997. The previous year, legendary veteran CBS newsman Charles Kuralt had personally recruited Tim and invited him join the on-air talent as a regular correspondent for the Emmy Award-winning TV show CBS News Sunday Morning.

Whether performing his original tales or retelling an old classic, Bill Harley is one of the liveliest acts going in storytelling for kids. You'll hear a story about a little girl named Sarah as well as Harley's take on what might happen if a kid stayed up all night (something he never got to do as a child) and his version of the old English folktale "Fox's Sack."

Recorded at The State Theatre of Maine at Lakewood in the spring of 1983, footage from this performance became the basis of Tim’s first prime-time TV special on Maine PBS. Released on vinyl LP in the fall of 1983, Downeast Standup was the first of four Tim Sample solo albums to be produced on the Bert and I label in the 1980s. Now widely considered a classic of 20th century Maine dialectal storytelling, this recording contains Tim’s signature story "Saturday Night at Moody’s Diner".

Jim Gaffigan is a very successful comedian and that means he gets to perform in interesting places for interesting people. On this extra special episode of Hold On, host Eugene Mirman brings Jim into the studio to tell a live story on the spot. The story in question? Hold On with Eugene Mirman is an amazing audio show where comedians join Eugene in the studio and on stage to break down funny stories they've told.
