In this lecture, Dr. Hawkins provides a lot of insight about the ego, about emotions, and about being “wronged” and the grim satisfaction we get from all that. The payoff gets bigger as we evolve spiritually, and then the tempter of the ego appears to constantly test us. He explains what the source is and why it stays with us.

This set includes three talks given by Dr. Hawkins, on Stress, Health, and Spiritual First Aid. Stress results from our point of view, from what we hold in mind, as well as from our attitudes and beliefs. The source of stress is within ourselves and not out in the world. There is no escaping stress in the world, for it is self-created. Relief occurs from understanding its true cause. What is exhilarating to one person is debilitating to another. Dr. Hawkins describes methods of precluding stress rather than trying to alleviate its aftermath.

The Eye of the I is a brilliant work that dissolves the barriers between the known and the unknown, between science and spirituality, and between the Newtonian linear paradigm of the ego and the nonlinear reality of Enlightenment. With the resolution of the self, the self shines forth and reveals one's true identity.

These all-day seminars were held at the Creative Life Center in Sedona, AZ. In this series, Dr. Hawkins presents the necessary information & steps to follow to reach the state of Enlightenment, with the focus on the many spiritual traps and non-integrous teachings that a student may encounter on the path and how to avoid them. He calibrates the truth of the statements made during each lecture.

He discusses sex and spiritual conflict, along with guilt, religion, programming, and social belief systems. He describes low-energy and high-energy sex, how to overcome impotence and lack of response, and how to transcend desire so that one is not at the effect of it.

Dr. Hawkins begins this lecture by saying that our spirit will be where it must be as a consequence of that which it is. Everything is exactly precisely where it has brought itself through its own decision. He states: "There is nobody paddling the canoe except yourself!" However, with the progression of consciousness, the "I" is less and less limited and ultimately becomes the source of Knowingness itself.
