I took Dash’s place among The Forsaken without a moment’s hesitation—a reckless, impulsive decision and not exactly my smartest move. But there you have it. We killed someone.... Okay, not exactly the news I wanted to hear from my aunts. But here it was. Now, what the hell was I supposed to do with it? Just when I thought I could finally get a well-deserved break from the shitshow I'd been living for the past months, I get hit with this. To make matters worse, an investigator starts snooping around Hollow Cove, asking questions about my aunts. If they're found guilty of this murder, it's a one-way ticket to Grimway Citadel - the witch prison.

Lucifer took my magic. Okay, so technically, Derrick the incubus douche took it, but he was Lucifer's guy and following orders. Still, I can't be a witch or a Merlin without magic. Can my life get any worse? Of course, it can. As I try to adjust and accept life without a drop of magic in my veins, Marcus disappears. Well, not exactly, more like he ghosts me. He's not returning my calls or my texts. Just when I think I finally have my love life on track, it gets derailed, and my heart is slowly torn apart.

I didn’t think my life could get any worse — but it did. A series of gruesome murders shake New York City, and it’s my job to try and catch the murderous SOBs before they kill their next victim. I was wrong again. Nothing is what it seems. When members of the Gray Council wind up dead, a new evil closes in and I find myself on a dangerous path. Just when I thought I could kick back and relax, the madness of the Netherworld and demons pulls me right back in. And I have no choice but to kick some serious butt.

That’s what I thought until they came to Hollow Cove. And when I say they arrived, I mean they actually materialized—they came to life. Newly engaged, I was looking forward to some quiet, sexy time with my wereape—all kinds of horizontal refreshments in every room—you know the type. But did I get it? Nope. Instead, I get hit with fairytales that plague our town.

I was engaged. Okay, so I wasn't technically engaged. But I did fantasize about it. A lot. Okay, all the time. No need to pretend. The only problem here was when couples got engaged, there was usually a proposal of sorts, an exchange of promises, and a mutual agreement to spend the rest of their lives together. But three weeks have now passed since the night I found that black box with that pretty ring, and still, the chief hasn't proposed. But I've got worse problems. A mysterious and ominous curse spreads across our town, and we don't know who's responsible or why it's happening.

It’s important to stay busy in my line of work, and fresh challenges keep me on my toes. I just didn’t expect it to happen so soon. Okay, so I accepted the archdemon Lucian’s gift in the hopes that it would make me invincible - big mistake. A darkness rises in me that I can’t control. It seduces me, offering me the power to make things right again, all the while consuming little pieces of my soul. But if I embrace the darkness, will I ever be the same?

As a Starlight witch, I’ve had my fair share of struggles. I mean, let’s face it, being a witch is tough enough, but when you add a little sister into the mix, things get crazy. Shay’s got the power of the sun inside her, and everyone wants a piece of that, including the evil vampiress Freida. She wants to use my little sister for her own nefarious purposes, and I’ll be damned if I let that happen.

I can’t trust him. But I don’t have a choice. I’m going to solve these murders, even if the angel-born hates me, and even if the heat between us is irresistible.

Okay, so officially, I’ve resigned from the Dark Witch Court as one of the witches who clean up paranormal problems no one else wants to handle. Specifically, I deal with the demons that escape from the Veil—the invisible layer that protects our world from the Netherworld. Landing in jail was not how I expected to spend the rest of the night. Nope. I had imagined some horizontal mambo with a certain uber-hot giant. To make matters worse, the insufferable, drool-worthy Logan keeps popping into my life unannounced, making it extremely hard to focus on the job—and not his tight behind.
