In this awe-inspiring lecture, Dr. Hawkins reveals that peace can't really be accomplished in the world, that it is an inner state. Dr. Hawkins introduces his first lecture in the Sedona Series with an explanation of why he wrote the book, Power vs. Force. He wanted to provide a way for people to move from the everyday linear world of black and white to the less familiar, abstract, nonlinear world without thinking they were moving into a mystical, imaginary realm. He wanted to enlarge the paradigm of reality of science so the intelligent person could comprehend the work and conclude that there was something to look at in the nonlinear domain.

Dr. Hawkins begins this lecture by stating that our true purpose is to transcend from our original animal nature, otherwise known as the ego, to the realization of Divinity. He then guides us throughout this talk on how to allow the unfolding of this Truth. He explains our predicament: We have no idea where we came from, why we are here, who we are or where we are going. We are faced with the continuous uncertainty of life, everything we cling to is attacked and undermined by doubt within ourselves. However, the Presence of God as Self is the source of one's own existence.
