The people of the principality of Liechtenstein have long wished for independence, but the Empire has always had its own plans for the country. The neighboring states, meanwhile, have kept a constant eye on the principality, as if it were their own property. What's more, the internal conflicts between the country's aristocrats have shown no sign of abating. Was it really a good idea to stir up this hornets' nest? Well . . . they only have themselves to blame!

The hardest part is behind me, it seems. I'm no longer a kindergartner. I've got money, allies, and, most importantly, a reputation. Yet, the further you rise, the more challenges the Universe throws your way, and the more powerful your foes become as they emerge over the horizon. That just makes life more interesting, however. I've got a plan. And I'm going to follow it to the letter....

I used to be the greatest Earth Mage in my world. The head of the entire Order of Architects. But the older you get, the more you come to realize that at some point, you need to retire, so that you can have the chance to enjoy a peaceful life and to cede your place to the young, some of whom have already turned two thousand years old . . .So that's what I did. But I failed to account for one thing: during the course of my long life, I'd accumulated too many enemies, and they had decided to spoil my retirement. So they died along with me. And I hope their deaths were final. But mine was not!

It seems that my former power is gradually returning to me in my new body. I still have all my past experience, however, and everything is proceeding just as it should. I am Monster Slayer Fifth Class, Baron Alexander Galaxius. I'm still a baron with no barony, lands or family ring. Just like my past life, this one hasn't given me anything on a silver platter. I'll have to use my own strength to create the world I need. Once more . . .

In meiner Welt war ich der größte Erdmagier. Das Oberhaupt des gesamten Ordens der Baumeister. Aber mit zunehmendem Alter wird einem immer klarer, dass es einen Zeitpunkt gibt, an dem man sich zurückziehen muss, um sich eines ruhigeren Lebens zu erfreuen und Jüngeren das Feld zu überlassen, von denen einige allerdings auch schon an die zweitausend Lenze zählen... Genau das habe ich getan. Ich hatte mehr als genug. Nur eines hatte ich nicht bedacht: in meinem langen Leben habe ich mir zu viele Feinde gemacht, die nur darauf gewartet haben, mir den Ruhestand zu vermiesen. Okay, sie sind mit mir gestorben. Ich hoffe bloß - endgültig.

Aber wie sollte ich schnell zu Geld und Ansehen kommen? Nicht durch Raub und Mord, schließlich war ich ein Baumeister. Handwerk und Baukunst – das war unser Ding! Und es war Zeit, mein Imperium wiederaufzubauen. Okay, ganz ohne Raub und Mord würde das vielleicht nicht vonstattengehen, schließlich hatte ich immer noch Feinde.

Familienanwesen – vorhanden! Erstes Familienschwert – ebenfalls! Haustiere – eine ganze Schar! Feinde – immer mehr! Freunde – mehrere, gedankt sei dem Ehrenkodex! Geld – Ups… Ich brauche mehr Gold! Ich, Monsterschlächter der fünften Klasse, bin Baron Alexander Galaxius. Nach wie vor wird mir als Baron die Freiherrnwürde, der Landbesitz oder ein Familienring jedoch verwehrt. Wie auch in meinem früheren Leben wird mir in diesem nichts auf einem silbernen Tablett serviert. Ich bin gezwungen aus eigener Kraft die Welt zu erschaffen, die meinen Ansprüchen genügt. Nicht zum ersten Mal.

Ich war ein Jäger und habe den Kodex geehrt. Für meine Verdienste um die Menschheit und dafür, ein „angemessenes Leben“ zu führen, wurde ich belohnt. Mit einem Leben nach dem Tod und einer neuen Welt, in der ich wohlverdienten Frieden finden sollte. Doch irgendetwas lief schief und erneut finde ich mich dem Kampf ausgesetzt. Die Ungeheuer, die mich hier erwarten, sind weitaus furchteinflößender als jene aus meinem vergangenen Leben. Sie sind klüger, grausamer und unberechenbarer.
