About this listen

I need my manor, I need my family ring, I need my Family, and I need your motorbike . . .

My body grows stronger, my spirit levels up, and my old skills haven't gone anywhere. Finally, people I can trust are gathering around me.

Mighty enemies? Sure, they exist too. But not for much longer . . .

A good story with russian sensibilities be warned

This is a good story loss of action. Very interesting characters, so I would warn you. There are some racist accents 2. The character when it comes to Jewish people other than that, it pushes the story along. We get to see some new characters. And it has some very interesting twists and turns. Hopefully we can hear the next one soon.

The hero is always getting into fights and finding new monsters to make into his pets!

Keeps you interested in the story. Builds on the history of the Hunter and pulls in all the pieces for a new life!

Excellent

Another excellent example in the series. The whole series comes across as a semi modern fantasy noir with dungeons. With the whole thing combined together with a hard boiled main character. I look forward to the next book.

Good narrator

Great story! Love the whole series. Can’t wait for more audiobook in the series as I listen to the stories over and over again.

Awesome 👍👍👍👍👍

The series is one of the best portal books I have read. Can’t wait for the next several books to be released and hopefully 🙏🏻 they will be available on audible too.

originally gave 2 stars... the writing is hot garbage

This story is legitimately terrible. The characters are all 1 note and empty at that. The dialogue is about as layered or interesting as a thin slice of white bread.
A mostly incoherent mess of shifting from one scene right over to another (remarkably similar) scene with no connective tissue or transition.
This is somewhere between a wannabe edge lord and incels wet dream of a story.
Even leaving aside the pretty blatant racism and sexism, which oddly enough I didnt have any problems with (some guys are actually this lame, so it is what it is)... this story feels like a writing exercise for a 14 year old that will never have to be turned in.
This may be my biggest waste of a credit to date.

Kind of offensive and a little problematic

Okay so, let me start off by saying I've read like 8.5 books from three different series of this authors and I have enjoyed them all. That being said, I've noticed some things that have kind of left a bad taste in my mouth. At first I thought it was just the characters having flaws and being imperfect but over the course of the three different series I have to reconcile the fact that it is probably with the author that these issues lay and not the characters. There are several instances per book of sexism, misogyny, and underlying racial stereotyping. I truly want to believe that this is subconscious on the part of the author, but I can't say for sure; equally as troubling is the lack of recognition of these instances I've seen in reviews. It truly is hard to notice and easy to excuse at first, but after completing The Hunter's Code book 3, it's impossible to miss at this point. The series in reference/books I've completed are The Hunter's Code 1-3, The Healers Way 1-6, and The Order of Architects 1-2. I would say it is most prominent in the Hunter's Code and least prominent in The Order of Architects, and I am unsure if this has to due with the coauthors in particular. I think it's extra disappointing cause the books themselves are pretty good, the worlds are unique, the magic system is pretty well-balanced, and, for the most part, the characters are relatable and pretty interesting. Also it goes without saying (and even with) that the narrators all do an excellent job.
