Over 14 months have passed since Fleet Admiral Kurt Vickers drove the Profiteers from Earth. Eighty million people died while the planet was being ransacked and its wealth stolen. The aliens inform the admiral that they are called Hocklyns and are from a large multi-world trading federation.

After the destruction of the Dyson Sphere and six Simulin worlds, the situation in the Triangulum Galaxy calmed down. For over seven months, the people of Gaia and the Lost Fleets knew peace. The mystery of the Originators only deepens when a new warship appears over Gaia. The secret it holds will shake the Lost Fleets and change their future forever.

Huge battles break out across the galaxy as High Prince Brollen returns with a massive war fleet of Vorn ships to harvest the entire galaxy. Fleet Admiral Vickers is pulled into the conflict as he fights to keep Newton, Earth, and their Alliance safe against impossible odds. On the Dyson Sphere, Valen and other councilors plead for the council to vote to attack the Vorn. The fate of the galaxy rests with a council, where most do not want to become involved in a galactic war.

The Eternals continue with their plans to conquer Originator space. Huge war fleets are sent to isolate the Dyson Spheres and force the Originators to surrender. Massive space battles erupt across Eternal and Originator space as Fleet Admiral Jeremy Strong commits his forces to push the Eternals back. Across the Dyson Spheres, the search continues for sleeping Originators who can be awoken from stasis to aid in the expanding war. The Eternals are convinced they are the most intelligent and powerful race in the universe and should rule.

Far from Earth and the Human Empire, the Human fleets continue to fight against an enemy that vows to destroy them. The Confederation continues to fracture, and the Humans add more alien races to their growing list of allies. Will the Morag discover the plot to destroy their home planet of Morag Prime?
