Narration: Lauren Fortgagng either has a very nasally voice or she was congested while she narrated this book. And that was kind of annoying. I also felt like she read too slow at times which made this book feel too long.
For me this book was ok. Would not buy it for a credit but if you find it on sale Then it's worth it.
It was just ok for me..

It's a fun story, but lacking a lot of the action present in most of Brockmann's SEAL books (of either series). It's definitely fairly insta-love as the whole book takes place over just a few days.
Frisco has been recovering/rehabbing a knee injury for the last 5 years. He's just received word that despite numerous surgeries and years of PT ~ things are as good as they're going to get. Which means he will likely spend the rest of his life using a cane to walk. Also thrown at him is that his sister needs to go to rehab and he will now be the guardian of his 4 year-old niece, Tasha.
Mia is a high school teacher and Frisco's next door neighbor. She's drawn to help grumpy Frisco learn how to be the parent of a pre-schooler as well as encourage him that his life isn't over.
We also meet Thomas King, one of Mia's students who bonds with Tasha and simultaneously looks up to Frisco as a SEAL while wary of Frisco's parenting.
There is some action as Tasha's mom's ex causes havoc and a rescue takes place, but it's quite minimal in relation to the romantic aspect of the story.
I had trouble with the narrator as she didn't have a strong "male" voice. It also felt more like she was reading me the book than performing it. Joe Cat's distinct accent is also noticeably absent. I think she might be a better fit for when a book is only from the female POV. It's a decent listen as part of Audible Escape, but I'll read it in the future.
More romance than suspense

Good but way too much inner dialog!

Where does Frisco's Kid rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Toward the top. It was a way better listen than some out there, but not the absolute best. What did you like best about this story?
His bond with his neice. I LOVE how he adapted to her. It wasn't easy, but he did it and he came out better for doing it!Which scene was your favorite?
In the cabin when Tash couldn't sleep because it was too quiet and Frisco brought Mia into her bedroom and made them both listen to the sounds of nature. I also LOVED when they were shopping for Tasha's furniture and they sat on the pink princess couch that she wanted SO badly. Which made me laugh very hard at the scene when all his team members arrive at his place later in the book after his place got trashed! Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Again, probably the part in the cabin. It just reminded me of comfort and contentment.Any additional comments?
I really enjoyed the book. The narrator was good. The story was good. The characters had some depth.Decent listen.
