Publisher's summary

When history professor Alison Carter became a consultant to the film version of the Wild West legend she’d dedicated her career to researching, she couldn’t possibly have known that she would not only get a front-row seat to a full-blown Hollywood circus but would innocently witness something that would put her life in peril. Nor did she expect that a tall stranger in a cowboy hat would turn the movie — and her world — completely upside down.

A. J. Gallagher didn’t crash the set in dusty Arizona to rub elbows with Hollywood’s elite. Unable to ignore ghosts from the past that refuse to stay buried, A.J. came to put an end to the false legend that has tarnished the reputation of his family. But when he confronts Alison, sparks fly. And when Alison is targeted by ruthless criminals, suddenly she and A.J. must face the intense attraction that threatens to consume them—and survive the danger that threatens their very lives.

Awesome!

Ms Brockmann never disappoints. The narrators were perfect, the story thrilling. Highly recommended for a sweet, cozy listen.

Narration very confusing

Narration left a whole lot to be desired. Two different people doing the same characters was very irritating.

I really enjoyed this book!

It took a little while to get really involved in the plot but once there it was a true joy to listen to the story. I loved all the characters and the narrators. Was worth every penny I spent on it.

Fantastic!

This book could have been written by another of my favorite authors, Jennifer Crusie. It is a departure from her regular series about Troubleshooters, INC., which have become formulaic and preachy. If anyone who is a regular of Ms. Brockman doesn't know that she has a gay son they have certainly not paid attention. Though honestly, every book has a particular message that she hammers home, sometimes endlessly! This book was more story than preaching though and showcases her talent for romance and authenticity very well. I enjoyed it very much!

WOW!! Loved it

I chose this book out of NEED. Books by my favorite authors are just not showing up fast enough to keep me entertained, so while out looking for something, I read reviews by others and took the chance. Am I ever glad I did. Although this book does not have a story that carries from one book to the next, it does contain many stories in one. The story of a young boy who has lost his cornerstone in life, a young man dealing with experiences he had while fighting for our freedom, and the addiction he developed when he came home. It also becomes entertaining because of the love that develops with a historian, that has been hired to help with a historical film. Although there are some "sex" scenes, it isn't porno.

I really enjoyed this book it made me laugh, cry and fear for the characters. The narrators were great creating the atmosphere that was required for each character and circumstance. I highly recommend this book for a great listen.

Ugh

I loved this book, but I would have loved the performance more if Patrick Lawler was not narrating. There's no real dynamic whenever he reads and it takes away from the story... Loved everything else!

Not my typical book. But really enjoyed the complexity of the story once I got into in. Give it a try you won’t be disappointed

2 love stories in one

This is my first "not-Troubleshooter Inc" book by the author and I'm really glad I tried it.

As with some of her other books Suzanne Brockmann adds a love story of separate timeline with the main love story in this book. In this case James "Kid" Gallagher, and the supposedly kidnapped Melody in the past and A.J. Gallagher and Alison in the present. In the other books I found the juxtaposition sometimes annoying, but in this case it works really well in building the relationship of the main characters.
I also like the two narrators. I think having two narrator works really well with this story.

To Each Her Own

I admit I was reluctant to listen to this one because of the "cowboy" and "Ghost" themes (two of my least favorite romance underscores...but

I LOVED IT. Really entertaining. I had bought it based on my cost per hour calculation and was thrilled I did, One of the few audiobooks I will probably listen to again.

Not One of My Favorites

I just couldn't get through the male narrator. His voice was scratchy and every character he spoke through sounded the same, like an old time cowboy. Even the male sexy character sounded like "an old time cowboy" . I think a male romantic lead should sound sexy. This one didn't! Every person is different so perhaps you may like this audio book.
