About this listen

When history professor Alison Carter became a consultant to the film version of the Wild West legend she’d dedicated her career to researching, she couldn’t possibly have known that she would not only get a front-row seat to a full-blown Hollywood circus but would innocently witness something that would put her life in peril. Nor did she expect that a tall stranger in a cowboy hat would turn the movie — and her world — completely upside down.

A. J. Gallagher didn’t crash the set in dusty Arizona to rub elbows with Hollywood’s elite. Unable to ignore ghosts from the past that refuse to stay buried, A.J. came to put an end to the false legend that has tarnished the reputation of his family. But when he confronts Alison, sparks fly. And when Alison is targeted by ruthless criminals, suddenly she and A.J. must face the intense attraction that threatens to consume them—and survive the danger that threatens their very lives.

Ms Brockmann never disappoints. The narrators were perfect, the story thrilling. Highly recommended for a sweet, cozy listen.

Awesome!

Narration left a whole lot to be desired. Two different people doing the same characters was very irritating.

Narration very confusing

It took a little while to get really involved in the plot but once there it was a true joy to listen to the story. I loved all the characters and the narrators. Was worth every penny I spent on it.

I really enjoyed this book!

This is my first "not-Troubleshooter Inc" book by the author and I'm really glad I tried it.

As with some of her other books Suzanne Brockmann adds a love story of separate timeline with the main love story in this book. In this case James "Kid" Gallagher, and the supposedly kidnapped Melody in the past and A.J. Gallagher and Alison in the present. In the other books I found the juxtaposition sometimes annoying, but in this case it works really well in building the relationship of the main characters.
I also like the two narrators. I think having two narrator works really well with this story.

2 love stories in one

I admit I was reluctant to listen to this one because of the "cowboy" and "Ghost" themes (two of my least favorite romance underscores...but

I LOVED IT. Really entertaining. I had bought it based on my cost per hour calculation and was thrilled I did, One of the few audiobooks I will probably listen to again.

To Each Her Own

I just couldn't get through the male narrator. His voice was scratchy and every character he spoke through sounded the same, like an old time cowboy. Even the male sexy character sounded like "an old time cowboy" . I think a male romantic lead should sound sexy. This one didn't! Every person is different so perhaps you may like this audio book.

Not One of My Favorites

This is my first book by Suzanne Brockman, but it won't be my last. The characters are engaging, the performances are delightful, and it left me wanting more.

laugh out loud funny

This book is written with a great sense of humor and family connections. At first I thought, Oh Sure, but you quickly become interested in this story and waiting to see what will happen next. I like romances, putting it mildly, but this one is not only romantic, but fun and suspenseful. I don't want to give anything away, but trust me when I say this is written with an eye toward actual current events and how they have affected so many people. I found myself tearing up on my commute as this book ended because I liked all the characters so much, I knew I was going to miss not having them with me every day. We could all use a Grandfather like "Jamie" in our lives!!

It is rare that I cry at the end of an audiobook,

Truly an enjoyable story. There's times that I cried and times I laughed. Melody's struggle in her early life and marriage was so traumatic and yet, she was finally able to find love and happiness and trust.

Enjoyable

There is some misunderstanding that this is a mystery book, but it is more of a romance with a bit of supernatural and lite mystery integrated into it. I read this a long time ago, back with I read everything Suzanne Brockmann wrote. The Troubleshooter series is the best of her writing, this one borders on too much of a romance to really love. With that said I did enjoy the story. There is a wide mix of good and bad review for this book I say it is somewhere in the middle. If you like romances give it a shot, if you’re looking for a mystery, you might want to skip this one. Patrick Lawlor is not my favorite narrator, and he does a lot of narration for Suzanne Brockmann’s books, but you get used to it after a while, but I can see that he is not for everyone.

Grampa’s spirit needs the truth to be told.
