About this listen

He was the sexiest guy she'd ever met. And that was about all Jess Baxter knew about her newest tenant. Rob Carpenter was a master at dodging questions...and igniting her desires. With just one of his searing kisses, Jess was hotter than the Florida sun. Then the murders started - all women who looked like her. And the profile of the killer matched Rob... Was he an innocent victim - or had his burning kisses only been a smoke screen? One thing was certain: Rob Carpenter was no ordinary man.

Dissapointing...

What would have made No Ordinary Man better?

Hard to tell.... probably nothing. It's just not a good book.

What do you think your next listen will be?

I will try the same author as she had written some fantastic books, but this is unfortunately not one of them.

Would you be willing to try another one of Betsy Bronson’s performances?

Not really...

What character would you cut from No Ordinary Man?

Both lead characters, actually. There is just nothing interesting about either of them.

Any additional comments?

Flat and boring. Also, fuels a dangerous myth that dysfunctional men from violent homes make great romantic partners.

Audible has poor up AI for matching listener tiles

I like clean suspense romances. This twisted work has a serial killer boarding with a single mother and her child and courting her. It is totally sick. I not only don't want to finish it I want to return it for the credit I used. It shows poor AI on the part of Audible to recommend the title to me.

Not like her other books, plus narrorates was flat

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Where is the addicting "page turner" from Brockmann in this book? I could easily put it down.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Another author.

How could the performance have been better?

Wayyy. Narrator was flat. A few voices were just silly, plus her Michigan accent kept popping in and out.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from No Ordinary Man?

80% of the denials of I can't tell you. Just didn't hold up.
