About this listen

"Last name's Savage - it means wild and uncontrolled." Jace, a party boy, yacht builder and skilled photographer with a quicksilver temper, tells the pretty waitress at Chica Rios. He's desperate to get laid, but there's something in the way of his driving, overactive libido and the girl standing before him - trouble...big trouble, and a whole lot of it, from the trustafarian prick who works by his side, to his messed up twin sister, to the secret hiding at his house.

He sets out to woo Zoé Dubois, keeping her away from his trouble at home, encouraging her to let go of her inhibitions and live "Savage style", riding with him on the back of his motorcycle, exploring the great outdoors in a variety of oh, so delectable and naughty ways.

He ends up with way more than he bargained for. He uses his sexual experience to teach Zoé how to surrender, and his strong will and single minded focus to get his way with her. But it turns out she's the kind of woman who demands the truth...and that's just not the way he rolls. She leverages his love for her to get him to let her into his troubled world and tender heart - something he's stubbornly determined to protect. Their passionate, erotic, romantic connection keeps them bound together while the trouble he brings threatens to tear them apart at every turn.

Gotta Love Those Bad Boys

What did you love best about Looks Like Trouble to Me?

This is the best Calinda B book yet. I love the characters and the storyline. Calinda supplies laughter, angst, romance and sex. Jace and Zoe begin a rocky relationship and steadily build on their trust of each other. I look forward to seeing where the story goes next.

Good story

I was gifted with a copy of this book for an honest review.

Very good story line and would recommend if interested in a whorl-wind love affair. Narrator did well but still came off dry and a little monotone to me.

Loads of Action

What made the experience of listening to Looks Like Trouble to Me the most enjoyable?

I really liked all of the voice changes for the different characters, and how the narrator kept the same voice for each one.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the way the narrator didn't hesitate when it came to the naughty bits, and the way his voice deepened to match Jace's mood.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

I do think he could have. It seemed like he wasn't too familiar with the story, and kept ebbing where he should have flowed. It wasn't too bad of a job though.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was. If I didn't have to go to work, I would have stayed awake for as long as I could to hear the entire thing in one go.

Trouble starts with a J

If you could sum up Looks Like Trouble to Me in three words, what would they be?

Fast, intriguing, hot

What was one of the most memorable moments of Looks Like Trouble to Me?

When he finally told Zoe about his niece and how she took the news. He was finally willing to open up to her and was rewarded.

What about Zachary Liebenstein’s performance did you like?

She did a great job. The story moved along quickly and I didn't find myself getting bored. Her ability to add the characters voices was appreciated so you could easily tell who was talking.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the whole story. There was not the normal romance plot with boring items seen before. The plot was great and kept me guessing while I listened.

He should have been called Jace Mayhem

This story was a whirlwind. There was so much going on, but somehow the characters still seemed real. Often when there’s a lot of plot packed into a short chronological period of time, the characters act like it’s not too much/too fast/too crazy. No so in this book, there was a lot of mayhem and the characters knew it. Jace came in like a wrecking ball and flipped Zoe’s world upside down, but he did it with the best of intentions. I felt for him, trying to keep some parts of his life separate to keep Zoe away from potential danger, though I did kind of want to shake him and yell “just tell her already” a couple of times. He loves fiercely and doesn’t apologize for it. I was slightly annoyed at how Zoe would stand up to Jace, but then be completely gullible to basically everyone else. I appreciated her pointing out that their love affair had a much abbreviated timeline full of madness. Sometimes I think authors use that as a crutch to explain away over the top incredulity in a reader, but I didn’t get that feeling in this story.

There were some distracting mispronunciations, but the narrator’s voice was so sexy that I forgave him. I was worried at the beginning that I wouldn’t be able to handle it, but it wasn’t too overwhelming. I wasn’t so engrossed in the story that I didn’t notice it, but I could note it and get right back into the action.

There was a cliff hanger, but to be honest, it felt like the story had been wrapped up. It felt kinda like a cliff hanger tacked onto an epilogue. I just don't know how the author can keep up the level of intensity in another book without going too far. It'll be interesting to see (hear?)...

Savage is Trouble!

I finished this story about 15 to 20 minutes ago and I really enjoyed it. It does contain graphic sex scenes and bad language. This story isn't suited for anyone under the age of 18 yrs of age. But, I think Calinda Be nailed it from start to finish. I'm assuming since it reads book 1 that there's a second book, no doubt that I most likely have it. If so, I'm going to start it now. This story wasn't all about sex it tells a story that leaves you filled with emotions and on the edge of your seat.

The narrator, Zachary Liebenstein did a fantastic job with his telling of this story. He had no problems with pulling me in and holding my attention from start to finish. He did a fantastic job. This is the first narrator that I've appreciated when it comes to narrating one of Calinda's stories. I give it an overall rating of 5 stars.

Great Story!

I don’t usually read many books from this genre, but I really enjoyed this one. The narration brought the story to life and held my interest throughout. The story was well thought out, complete and will keep you listening. I will definitely be watching for this author in the future.
