Ben is now Draco Rex the dragon king, and his dynasty is steadily growing.
His women give him a new dragon-kin child every few weeks, he has fortified and improved his village and palace, and the water dragons are coming back from the brink of extinction.
Life is good for him, but the gods have further plans, so it is time for the new ruler to build a raft and expand his domain.

Builds on book 1 nicely, you end up enjoying the characters and getting to know them all better, and it sets up very well for book 3.
I did pay for this one, where I used a credit for book 1. I would still argue that paying for them is (or isn’t) worth based on the listener, but they are at least worth a credit if your looking for a continuation to the story and have one to spare!
Improves on book 1, and continues to impress!

As I said in my review of book one, there are a lot of predictable moments in the story, but I personally don't mind that because the way the story gets told is very well done.
This book picks up a lot faster than Book 1 since it's a direct sequel to the last, with a minimal time gap of only about 2 weeks or so from the end of the first book. It begins much more intense and ends up answering a lot of questions the reader might have about the setting.
The fight scenes are much more intense as well, showing how much stronger and used to the new world Ben is becoming. Along with the fight scenes, the adult scenes are also still very well detailed and don't feel stale or out of place.
It only gets better.
