Publisher's summary

Alexis Summers is happily married and a mother of two gorgeous children. She's been a stay-at-home mum for nine years now, but it's time for a change. Starting a new job with a prestigious hotel, she's excited about her new career. Her boss, the hotel's owner Bryce Clark, is rich, gorgeous, funny, single, and, as Alexis quickly learns, a genuinely nice guy looking for his one true love. He is also a man who always gets what he wants. And what he wants is Alexis. The intense chemistry between them is undeniable - but Alexis is happily married to Rick, and no matter how strong her feelings are for Bryce, she is adamant she will not betray her husband and family. She draws a line in the sand but finds it increasingly difficult not to cross. Will she succumb to temptation?

Unbelievable

I would like the author to explain to me how Alexis can't feel that she has cheated on her husband, when she let Bryce play with her pussy and tits, before she found out that her husband cheated on her. She's just wanted an excuse to sleep with Bryce because she was gonna do it anyway.

Great read!

Excellent narration and fun, sexy story. Female lead is a grown woman in her 30s with 2 children.

Idea was interesting but it fell short for me

Any additional comments?

For me this was like a 2.5/3.0 book. Ok.. listen I don't have a problem with the whole... married women is attracted to her Hot, Sexy, Rich boss. Life is not clear cut and shit happens. But.... through this whole book all I could say was really? Really? Really? Alexis Summers was just a really weak character for me.. she acted more like a 18 year old instead of a women in her 30's! I realize when you are at the beginning of a new relationship you kind of become young and silly again but this was just to much for me. The choices she made and the way she acted was just something I expected to see on a character much younger then her. I guess I feel like the idea of this story was not bad... But the author needed to give her some more I don't know class? Dignity? Not sure but she was just not realistic to me. Don't get me started on her husband... I guess he was written in a way to make all this seem ok but geeezzzz! And then there is Bryce Clark the BOSS. He was written ok... typical hot, rich, bad boy who doesn't commit but will with Alexis no matter what he has to do to get her and he does! Ahhhh... Well having said all this I am sure some people will enjoy this book but as for me I looked on Goodreads to see what the other two books are about and NOPE I am good with just the one.

Worth the Read (I plan to read the sequel)

Where does Temptation: Book 1 in the Temptation Series rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It is a low-hanging fruit of a 4-star. An easy read and not overtly predictable, though, toward the end I had a feeling how things were going to shake out and how the author would legitimize the less savory actions (or sequence of actions) of the characters.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Temptation: Book 1 in the Temptation Series?

Mid-book when Alexis fell into day-dreams that the reader thinks are real for a few minutes. Also, when her boss comes to her husband's house with a proposal straight out of Indecent Proposal.

Which scene was your favorite?

When her girlfriend asks if she's nailed her sexy/handsome/rich boss "yet" ..... like, it's not a questions, it's a timeframe of inevitability. It kinda felt like that friend was the voice for the reader.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

That this lovers triangle emerged from a girl/woman who was so

Any additional comments?

I REALLY hate that Johnny Depp quote about falling in love with two people and how you should pick the second because if you loved the first you wouldn't be in love with the second. It's total bullshit. Polyamory. It's a real-life functional thing. Depp should look into it. Didn't like how this book used his cliché quote as a conversation piece. It annoyed me and frankly seemed like the author's attempt to invalidate the legitimate love Alexis has for her high school sweetheart, Rick.

I thought the title was also cliché but gave it a try after another reader review insisted it wasn't as trite a story as maybe it seemed on the outside ((this is my first third-wheel romance where a Husband and children are involved)). For all intensive purposes, the author pulled it off and I enjoyed reading it.

Great Book for 30+ Women

Finally, a story about a mature woman (Alexis 35) who likes actually likes herself! When she goes back to work after having 2 children, she is nervous but determined to succeed.

Alexis was a well rounded character: devoted mother, good friend, and hard worker. Her world is rocked when she was attracted to her new boss Bryce, after years of believing she has a solid, loving marriage.

There were enough real issues to keep the story from being a fairytale, while not relying on contrived drama, along with some very humorous parts - her friends were a riot.

Major Letdown

Temptation was very disappointing and the fact that I actually finished this audiobook is a testament to my resolve. I didn't not like this story at all and I really hate to say that. Alexis was the worse. She obsessed over her boss the second she meets him, gets overprotective of other women around him also on the same day she met him and throughout the book, is a hypocrite about her actions, and is just an all immature person. I'm fine with her being curious because she's only been with her high school sweetheart, but wow. She tells herself all the time how she loves her husband and has kids, but it only stops her for a second before crossing all kinds of lines with Bryce. Bryce isn't any better because he's on stalker status with his employees including Alexis and his behavior with her was terrible. The man did not care that she was married and had no restraints against doing anything with her. Just a hot mess.

The narration was ok. I just didn't love the accent. I think it kinda threw me off at first and I just never became accustomed to it. I don't want to put fault on the narrator here, but I just didn't love it.

Boring, DNF

This book was like me reciting what I’m doing every minute of the day. Super boring, not hot as some reviews say. I’m about 70% finished and there’s been one sex scene that’s about as boring as watching paint dry and lasted about one minute. No idea how this book had good reviews.
