Avery Caris and Patrick Zeller are phenomenal again in these two stories! They have such great chemistry & are so great at bringing Madi's characters to life! I love them as the duo that has absolutely owned this series!!

I couldn't put this one down! Literally, any chance I could I was reading it! I devoured this one! Charlie & Audrey are HOTTTTTTT!! Like their chemistry & spice could set my Kindle on fire HOT!

I love me some Audrey! She is fierce, strong, confident, & takes NO SHIT! She is a cam girl with zero shame, and I am HERE FOR IT! You go girlfriend! She is not a fan of commitment, and doesn't do relationships, so when it comes to feelings, she isn't a fan.

Charlie is the hockey teammate of her bestie Chandler's men (The Hat Trick, also a must read!), & unbeknownst to them at first, he is also Audrey's most loyal and best viewer on her cam show. He is obsessed with her, & when they are unexpectedly roommates, tensions are HIGH and bless it when they boil over! Charlie is a relationship type man, but has some trust issues from the past so he is willing to do whatever makes Audrey happy to keep her in his life for the time being.

Their dynamic, their healing, their growth, alllll of it is just so good in this one! I love how Madi Danielle validates all that these characters are going through, & how their relationship progresses so beautifully! I love love love them!

And did I mention the spice is spicin' in this one?? SPICIN' Y'ALL! I mean "good boy"?! MELTING! My Kindle may have actually melted!

I am not even sorry for all the caps locked moments in this review haha!

I love a friends to lovers romance, and this one was top tier!

Spencer and Jared have been friends for their entire life, and each held secret feelings for the other but didn't want to ruin the friendship. Spencer gets out of a toxic relationship (the audacity of that man is unreal!), & timing finally lines up for her & Jared. He doesn't want to be a rebound, so he makes them wait buuuut that doesn't last as long as you'd think because Spencer gets what she wants when she puts her mind to it!

This friends to lovers, rockstar & hockey player romance is super cute and SUPER SPICY! I mean, Jared, SIR. Love the growth of their feelings while they take their relationship out of the friend zone, and I wish it was much longer! I'd love to see more of them in the future!

I am in love with this book! If you are looking for something with a lot of spice, a bit of mystery, and a whole lot of "good boy," then this book is for you. Everything was just what I was looking for in a book. The characters were perfect for each other. The writing was tremendous, and the smut was perfect! This is a must-read book!

Audrey and Charlie both have trust issues for different reasons involving their past. Audrey is a cam girl who loves what she does. She loves the freedom that s3x comes with. She's never had a relationship and never wanted one. Her best friend, Chandler, dates 3 men from the Denver Dragon's Hockey team. They tried to set her up with a player, Charlie, but he never showed up for their date.

Charlie doesn't date, nor does he sleep around. His ex really messed him up. He prefers watching a particular cam girl, Lacey. He has watched her for 4 years now. It's safer this way for him. Plus, him and Lacey have their own special thing at times. He's almost obsessed.

When Audrey's electric goes out and she calls her friend to send one of her guys over. She is surprised when Charlie shows up. She can't stand him. When Charlie tells her what is exactly wrong with her electric, he goes to clean off his hands and stumbles in Audrey's cam room. Even though Audrey tried to keep him out. Now he knows exactly who Audrey is and invites her to stay in his guest room evening, knowing it's a bad idea. Without taking her who he is.

This is a very spicy book that involves power plays and trying to get Charlie to trust Audrey with his sexual desires. Because she thinks he's not and really wants him, but knows it's going to take a lot to get him to sleep with her. What she doesn't expect to happen is to fall for him. When she figures out that she is, she freaks out. No one will hold control over her life ever again. Charlie might just be the good boy she needs, though, to break down her walls, though.

The Narrators in both The Power Play and Cross Checked were amazing as always. Patrick Zeller had quickly became a favorite of mine to listen to. I love his voice during those spicy moments and how he sounds as those he's preforming those scenes 😉 Avery Caris does a beauty's job in this book and I love her voice and the emotions she sounds out as she's reading. These two together sound amazing.

This was a very short and spicy story. We've got little teasers of Jared and Spencer throughout this series, and I love that this novella brought the best friends to lovers trope. It was fun, super sweet and help a lot of spice in this super short book. I was so happy it was included at the end of The Power Play.

I loved the whole childhood best friend to lovers trope. We have the goalie for the Denver Dragons, Jared, that had always had a crush on his best friend & famous superstar singer, Spencer.

Spencer has been in a remained for the past 2 years with a rival hockey team's player and her relationship just ended publicly while she was in Denver performing. Her best friend is there to take her out and cheer her up.

Yet, the more time Jared spends with Spencer when she's single, the more he's having problems keeping his feelings to himself. His just worried to cross that line and she not feel the same. And he can't live without Spencer. Even if that means he has to keep her as his his best friend.

I loved this book. The first book in the series was good and entertaining but didn't have the emotional depth this book does. The banter, the spicy, the emotional depth! Oh and can we talk about the narration?!!! 😝🌶😍 They both slayed it! Love, love, love everything this book brings to the table. Every chapter just kept getting better. If you like hockey boys, kink, and getting hit in the feels buy this book.

HOLY 🔥 do not listen to this one at work, it will have you sweatingggggg. Madi, I’m not sure what you put in this one but I devoured every second!! These narrators brought this story to life!! I absolutely loved listening to them, you could feel the emotion, the angst, the raw need.

I freaking love these two!! Audrey is so fierce, and I loved her carefree spirit. And Charlie, oh Charlie baby had me swooning every time. I loved everything about their dynamic. The role reversals, the k!nks 🤭 I felt like I needed to catch my breath every few minutes!

But really their growth, and development not only of themselves but within their relationship was everything. I could never get tired of them!!

So flipping amazing. I love how they "met" and how they banter. From the very beginning of physically meeting the sparks were flying (I mean Audrey was a total twitch) and those two had some real hot sparks when they finally gave in. 😍🥰
Totally recommend if you want lots of self love, lots of adult toys and a whole lot of Charlie.

If you haven't noticed, ×, check is really a shortened condensed version of Serena Bowens, super fan that she wrote in 2019 and published
Can we say possible copyright infringement because you use the same last name? 4, the F, M, C, which in both books Is a singer-songwriter? You even have her assistant nearly having the same name and her love. Interest is the goalie, same love interest in both books. The only difference is, yours is shorter and yours are friends from childhood. Otherwise, the exact same s***.
That is disappointing. And you didn't even make it better than the first book, if you're going to check someone else's book, make it better like you did with the first book in this series, I know what book that's from and you did better than she did and made it shorter.
