About this listen

A USA Today best seller.

Warning: This book contains some very disturbing situations, graphic violence, strong language, and sexual content. For listeners over 18 years.

Love is like an avalanche. It hits hard, fast, and without mercy. At least it did for me when Sculpt, the lead singer of the rock band Tear Asunder, knocked me off my feet - literally. Because he's also a fighter, illegally of course, and he taught me how to fight. He also taught me how to love, and I fell hard for him. I mean, the guy could do sweet when he wasn't doing bossy, and I like sweet.

Then it all shattered. Kidnapped. Starved. Beaten. I was alone and fighting to survive. When I heard Sculpt's voice, I thought he was there to save me. I was wrong.

Canadian author from Toronto...

Mind the trigger warning with this one...dark, dark... it definitely shines a light on how brutal and cruel the human sex trafficking world is. The villains and situations depicted in this well written dark romance will give you nightmares. Emily and Logan's hard earned HEA was beautiful. Narration was excellent. Off to listen/read the next one. Highly recommend.

Entertaining , suspenseful & emotional

I enjoyed listening to this book. It was very dark and emotional. It allows you to see how being put in certain circumstances can cause even a strong individual to do unspeakable things for all the right reasons.

Intense...What Does One Do For Love?

A girl falls in love with a underground fight and musician...she innocent and lacks self confidence...he strong, in charge and experienced.
A world of sex trafficking, wounded people, truly evil and violent people..and those who will do whatever it takes to save those they love or the innocent.
A story that has ruthlessness and eventually redemption..plus secondary characters who have their own stories and make the reader/listener anxious to find out their stories and if they find their peace and sanctuary.
The narrator did a good job and keep the tension and emotion in the story.

Fantastic

I love a book that takes something from the real world that most of us would rather pretend that it doesn't happen. The sex slave industry is real and happens more likely then anyone from a stable home would like to think. This book puts it in your face and then also addresses the potential issues with recovery from being a slave. If you don't want to put your head in the sand then this is a book for you. There is love, sex, betrayals, and romance. Some of the reviews caution readers not to listen based on the content. I say listen to it and open your eyes. Fantastic all around.

Exceeded Expectations

In the beginning I felt the narrators voice was a bit too old sounding for the young age of the Female main, but it grew on me by the end. Her performance averall was good, but wish she would have given Male main a bit more variation to the speed of speach, it never varied much no matter the context but again seemed better toward the end of the book. Overall I liked the story and narration.

When a man loves a woman...

This is a really good listen and you will definitely be taken on a journey that is surprising and somewhat dark. What makes it so good is that you realize when a man loves a woman he indeed goes to through hell and back for her and that is what happens in this book. I love stories where the H doesn't let the h stop their love and sets out to prove to her that they are meant to be together. This book has lots of feels and characters that you want to meet in their own books. Will definitely get the next in the series.

A compelling and wild ride of emotions!

Wow did this book ever affect me... I've listened to a lot of stories about women being kidnapped and forced into slavery, but this one really got to me. The imagery was so vivid and the descriptions so dark and haunting that it actually made me really angry at parts and I had to take a break because it was affecting my mood outside of listening to it. That is truly the mark of a good book, that it affects you on such a level. This book is definitely difficult to listen to at parts and I warn you that there's a lot of pain and emotional turmoil throughout regarding the sex trade and degredation of women, so if you have a hard time with it, you might not want to listen. But overall, it pays off. They get their happy ending and I heard at the end that there are other books in the series which sounds exciting, I would love to hear Kat's story as well as Georgie's, and even love to hear more about who Kai is and how Raven could change with the right people around her. I think Kai could be that for her, but who knows what will happen. Anyway, this was an excellent listen and I'm definitely moving forward with the series.

Great series!!

I've read all the books in the Tear Asunder series, but book 1, Torn From You, is my favorite. I recently purchased it from Audible and I enjoyed listening to it as much as reading the book. I thought the narrative was good and kept me interested. I do, however, like when females do their own voice parts and males their own. Instead of having one voice do the whole narrative. A male voice trying to pull off a female voice normally doesn't sound convincing.

HE WAS PART OF THIS...HE DID THIS TO ME :(

When I read the description I was curious as to how a Rock Star would be involved with kidnapping women to be sex slaves. We do find out the connection but I still had a hard time dealing with how Logan treated Emily. It's obvious that he treats her different when they're alone then when she's put on sex slave display.

Emily is a strong willed woman and she endures many punishments because of this:
- being whipped
- kicked in stomach, side, head
- drug by hair
- sexually violated
just to name a few

I'm not giving anything away but I will give you a few quotes from the first two chapters:

"I ended up having to pee in the corner of the room. I never felt so dirty in all my life. I felt like an animal and I sobbed as I did it. It was humiliating."

"’Logan’s voice swam into my trembling body and wrapped me into it’s warmth I started sobbing...Logan had come for me he’s here to take me away to stop the pain."

Emily is let down from the ceiling and falls to the floor. She looks over her shoulder for Logan, "When I saw him my heart stopped for a few seconds then started beating erratically it was him but nothing in his eyes was the man I knew he was cold and expressionless as he starred down at me not a glimmer of sympathy in his eyes. I recognized nothing of the man I had fallen in love with, hope died as the realization hit me he was part of this he did this to me."

Man-O-Man now you know why this book sucks you in and doesn't let go.

Mackenzie Harte gave a profound performance. My first book by Nashoda Rose but it most certainly will not be my last.

Absolutely worth the credit and/or $$.
