It was difficult but I finished listening this book because i was hoping something interesting would come up. It was very difficult for me to listen to someone who appears not to know the language. He pronounced "carabao" as "caribou" which lead me to believe he wasn't comprehending what he was reading.

I wanted some kind of insight, how the stories related to one another. Possibly the similarities or differences on how the peoples from different regions dealt with the same subject. It was simply a narrator reading stories as if someone was reading a list. Not exciting nor interesting.

When I first started listening to this my first reaction was "I can't listen to this, it's a bit dry", but I kept it on just to occupy the background. After listening for a while, I found myself rewinding and paying better attention to it. Then I finally stopped the recording, went back to the very beginning and started listening intently. Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement, right? I probably wasn't in the right frame of mind when I was listening the first time. There were interesting points made, backed up by supporting material. If you're interested in the subject matter its worth the listen.

I bought this book based on the author. I thought it was going to be a book about how you should talk to strangers to make the best impression in an interview or making a sale. It was, but not really. It goes far beyond that. It encompasses points of view. Highly important in successful communication.

Don't let this simple title lead you to think this book has basic information. This book has great information as well as scientific data to back up its claims. It cites easy to understand examples so you can better understand the content.

The presentation was great as well. I liked how the headings and chapters were read by another person. This made it easy to differentiate the topics.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change the title. She talks about how an introvert has to do all these things so that extroverts will understand them, its hardly an advantage.

At times the content was very clinical, which I found unnecessary. I understand that she was explaining facts about introverts vs. extroverts, but it seemed very dry and didn't fit with the rest of the book.

Some of the examples were redundant. Different situations were cited (work, children, dating) but the advice to deal with all these situations were the same.

Would you recommend The Introvert Advantage to your friends? Why or why not?

I have recommended this book because the information is good but you really have to sift through to get to the core of this book.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

There are so many things I would change about the book.

There needs to be more pauses to let the listener know a new topic, paragraph, sentence has started. If I were reading this book I would be able to see headings, paragraphs, etc. but listening to this book left me lost because I wasn't able to detect a change of ideas.

In certain instances the narrator was reading from charts (it appeared to be), but it took me several tries to figure this out.

What was most disappointing about Devora Zack’s story?

The most disappointing thing about this book was that I'm sure there was useful information I don't think it was presented in a way that made it easily obtainable.

Would you be willing to try another one of Karen Saltus’s performances?

Most definitely not. The pace was too quick. I didn't have enough time to absorb the information.

What did you love best about The Referral of a Lifetime?

I've heard and read a lot about points made in this book before but its presented in a way that I can actually follow and use. I also like the examples used to support these points.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

The information is good but its difficult to follow due to the narration style.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator really detracted from the information presented. The tone was very monotonous and dry. The delineation between the headers and the content is not as clear as it could be. This might be a book that's easier to read than to listen to.
