Excellent Fantasy Story - For The Young At Mind & Heart
Reviewed: 03-12-25
I'm not disappointed on any level. Most definitely worth the credit. One of the best available on Audio Books. If you love the genre then you won't be disappointed. The narrator carries the story well with not a lot of effort - but is not annoying either.

Corporate flameout Ned Altimer dreams of leaving his world behind. So, when Earthblood Online splashes onto the VRMMO scene, he dives in and never looks back. His advantages are twofold: exclusive access to the game’s three-day Head Start period, and a ridiculously handsome talking axe named Frank who has knowledge of the game’s deepest secrets...if the magnificent Frank ever feels like sharing them.

Interesting Imaginative World - Disappointing MC
Reviewed: 02-28-24
The auther fails to be convincing with the MC's choice to be a Hunter Class is truly what the MC wants to be. The MC progresses to be portrayed as a hack and not willing to fit the role of being a Hunter Class that he committed himself to from the start; And the battle personality the MC starts out with seems to become forgotten about - because, it doesn't appear to be a significant part of the MC's Hunter Class development later on.
Spoiler. The whole chemical warfare is understandablely super powerful - but, I consider it as not befitting to the MC's battle personality the author originally introduces the readers to. And the author tries to be convincing that the chemical warfare profession grows on the MC enough to change this personality - to a point that I decided the MC's RPG Character Development decision making is disingenuous, as well as too neutrally chaotic to be the Hunter Class - in my book.
And the author spends a lot of time, way too much time - with the MC's RPG Status Menu and the MC's objective reasoning for why or why not to choose a skill - this turns out to be a huge amount of filler and obsessively so.
I'm not going to continue past this book in the series - unless, book 2 & 3 are made free temporarily in a promotion event.

Not Terrible - Not Great
Reviewed: 12-20-23
Story is just a Movie Script. Does not meet the quality marks of an indepth book story - like Frank Herbert's Dune - But I like the Hollywood Movie Thrill feeling these first two audiobooks in the series give me. The narrator only presents about 6 types of voices for creative character personalities - all sound male; whether or not the characters are female. And one of those voices (one of the few used most frequently) is squeaky for presenting adolescent dominant personalities & characteristics - this is a bit annoying to me, and possibly for many other listeners.

Story
Monsters and beasts roamed the earth and were slain by soldiers and adventurers who were, in turn, killed by stronger threats. Heroes and villains created new epics and were forgotten when their successors appeared. This was the way of the Infinite World. Summoned into this chaotic place, a young boy with no name and no past must learn to survive. Bound to a master who doesn't care whether he lives or dies, he must become stronger. The question is: how?

Outstanding Unique LitRPG Series Prodigy

Great introduction to a cast of intriguing rpg characters found in typical expectant circumstances that play a part in the world building and the development of the mc. The story is well put together - with the characters involved - but, the author held back on adding more depth to the world building when it was clear that he could have. I'm hopeful that there's more of this depth revealed in the next books in the series. The narrator is AWESOME.

This Is Awesome LitRPG - Best For Comparison
Reviewed: 11-22-23
The narrator blends in well with a story well written as though it seems both are a perfect fit. Especially noticeable with bringing out the characters in the story into the readers' mind as though being in an IMAX theater, watching an action blockbuster movie that you would pay to watch more than once because of the thrilling satisfaction. I've read books 1-4 and I haven't felt more satisfied with a LitRPG series in what seems like forever. Definitely worth the credits.

But survive he does, only to leave the dungeon and discover that while he experienced several hellish months in the dungeon, only half a day passed on Earth. Randidly's capabilities are now more than enough to help build a small enclave of survivors, but that doesn't mean balancing his sense of responsibility against the plots of an unfriendly town will be easy.

Cannot Continue Listening Until After Posting This Review Of The Narrator
Reviewed: 11-21-23
One of the best LitRPG that I've listened to so far. But, the Narrator.... Sorry. At 0.85 speed he sounds exactly like the narrator for the A&E Cold Case Files Series of the early 1990's - where I had nightmares about them. So I thought posting this would help me stop obsessing about it.

His Class and very appearance shift at random. If Tim is to survive long enough to enjoy this new world and the friends he's making, then he'll have to solve the riddle of his nature and learn to master the uncontrollable.

Interesting, Infuriating Ephemeral Trait Story
Reviewed: 10-15-23
Well done. But, the Ephemeral Trait Story is frustrating - Back in the 1980's I became familiar with this storyline from my experience with an AD&D dungeon master - I didn't like it then and still don't like it. The Narrator is Awesome - but, the Character Status Gleefull Narrator Voice is very annoying.

Story
In the 25th century, humans have conquered space. The advent of faster-than-light travel has opened up hundreds of habitable planets for colonization, and humans have exploited the virtually limitless space and resources for hundreds of years with impunity. So complacent have they become with the overabundance that armed conflict is a thing of the past, and their machines of war are obsolete and decrepit. What would happen if they were suddenly threatened by a terrifying new enemy?
